S-EBTM11: Announcements

Post by Jes »

Hello trackers,

I open this topic in order to post here the main announcements of the EBT-Summer Meeting 2011 in Barcelona.

I think we can post here the main issues concerning the meeting. (I hope N0W1K and the other organizers agree that you are already expecting more informations about the meeting and so on...)

1) PLANNING:

More details about the panning will be detailed soon, but as an overview:

Friday: pre-meeting at the "Barrio Gotico"

Saturday: Visit around the city with a tour guide. The most famous Modernist buildings/areas of the city will be visited.

N0W1K has prepared also a place for the Association Meeting.

Sunday: For those who are leaving Barcelona late in the afternoon (after 3:00pm) Angelino has planned a superb visit to one "Cava" which will take place in cava Codorníu (located in Sant Sadurní d'Anoia, postal code: 08770, ebt info).

For those who don't quite know what cava is: it is a Spanish sparkling wine (you can read more about it here)

The total price of the visit is around 11.4€ per person. (6€ for the bus from Barcelona to Sant Sadurní (price to be confirmed) + 5.4€ for the guided visit to the "cava place" itself). This visit (which is around 1 hour and a half long) will include also a wine tasting: you'll be able to actually savor 2 of the Cavas that they produce!

Image

As the 11:00am visit is not possible (there's another group who has already reserved it) ours will be at 12:30. Therefore, by the time the visit ends, it will be around 14:00 and you must go quickly to the bus, which will take you back to Barcelona. (you'll arrive to the city at around 15:00h)

In summary:

11:00 ---> departure from Pl. Catalunya by bus. (to Sant Sadurní)
12:30 ---> visit to the Caves Codorniu in Sant Sadurní.
14:00 ---> Back to Barcelona.

Please, note that no meal is planned before 15:00 so if you think you'll be starving ( :roll: ), it is recommended to take with you a "light snak" or something (or the meal itself, in case you have to go directly to the airport!)

More details of the Saturday agenda here: http://forum.eurobilltracker.com/viewto ... 34#p897434" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
More details for Friday and Saturday, here: http://forum.eurobilltracker.com/viewto ... 68#p897868" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Further details for Sunday, here: http://forum.eurobilltracker.com/viewto ... 96#p897896" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

For those staying longer, N0W1K will advice and give you hints for other visits, or you can join the post-meeting trip to Andorra which will be performed (if there's enough people interested.)

So please: if you are interested on the trip to Andorra, we requesto you to post here a comment saying "I want to join you on the trip to Andorra (on monday)"

2) DOTS:

To give you an idea, by the end of the meeting you will have visited two EBT-dots which are detailed below:

3) TRANSPORT:

Please, reffer to: http://forum.eurobilltracker.com/viewto ... 36#p897436" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

and also: http://www.alsa.es/portal/site/Alsa?por ... cale=en_GB" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; (for long-distance buses)

4) WHEATHER:

Please, reffer to: http://forum.eurobilltracker.com/viewto ... 49#p897749" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

To summarize: 0% rain expected, hot feeling. Do not bring coats with you :lol:

45) T-SHIRTS AND POSTCARDS:

The official design of EBT-Summer Meeting 2011 is available to be acquired in T-shirts, postcards, coffee mugs, hats, magnets, etc.

Image

We were planning a grouped purchase, in order to save on shipping costs. But it seems that noone is willing to risk his own money... :? (well, it is not strange), but I think that maybe groups of a few users from the same country can perform small grouped purchases... anyway, it is just an idea.

Please note that:

1) It is not compulsory to wear one of these for the meeting. Off course!! it is just for your pleasure! ;)

2) The price of the cheapest T-shirt is 9.94€ each. (it is the cheapest option that I found!! ;) ) but if you order more than 10, you get some discount (that's why we were trying to organize a grouped purchase).

If you are interested on 1 or more T-shirts, just place here a comment, in which you shall indicate the number of T-shirts you want, and their size. Sizes available: S, M, L, XL and XXL (XXL costs 11.94 each, instead of 9.94€)

If you want hats, mugs, postcards (for those who love collecting or postcrossing! ;) ) there are also some other products (even, magnets, or stickers, whatever you can imagine! 8O (be sure that I was surprised myself when designing!)

There is also the possibility of buying stuff with better quality (but of course: slightly more expensive)*. If you're willing to pay quality for the meeting, just visit this website to have a look there.

In case you want a specific product which is not there, you are free to make a suggestion :lol:

I think that's all for the moment... Happy tracking to all!! ;)

* More expensive stuff: 27€ 8O

Me & Sharatan were planning to go to Andorra leaving Barcelona on Sunday evening and returning Monday evening, but would like to know of any other 'group' plans so that we can see our options.

On sunday I will also come to the "Caves Codorniu" with my car, we will probably leave barcalona very early to get some dots

Just one week away, I'm really looking forward to this meeting 8) .

Interested, too. However, wonder if I can join you with my luggage. Must check-out at my hotel on monday. My plan is indeed to stay in Andorra for a couple of days and going back home from there and such, not returning to Barcelona anymore.

Well, nothing has been organised from my side by now in terms of Andorra. I also want to leave it up to the EBTM, what our hosts and other EBTers have to say about Andorra, who already know the country.

Pipocadoce says that Ana wants to insert the necessary information in the "Who will stay where and how long"-Thread. Keep an eye on it.

Hopefully my hotel booking was not too wrong in terms of location...

You may talk with Angelino and ask him the details of the trip.

With your permission, I add you to the list of people interested ;)

As for the details of Friday and Saturday, it is indeed N0W1K who has organized it, and she has not informed me about the issue yet.
