first, we thank you so far for your registrations so far. We are very pleased with the outcome. So many of you have already confirmed their trips to Frankfurt and there may probably be some more to come. Already now we definitely look forward to spend three great days with you.
With this topic we wish
1. to find out where you will stay
2. to have you confirmation that you will participate in
2a) the nostalgic 2-hours tram ride through Frankfurt on saturday (15 € / person including vouchers for drinks on board)
2b) the guided 1-hour-bus trip through the international airport on sunday morning (15 € / person)
As for 2a) and 2b) we need your confirmations until SUNDAY; 25th MARCH. The day after we need to reconfirm ourselves the bookings and effect the up-front- payments.
Anyone leaving by plane not before 1.30 p.m. can join the airport tour easily.
Anyone leaving by train not before 1.00 p.m. can join easily, too. (Especially if your train stops at the long distance station at the airport, too. Then your time slot will be even smaller.)
Your replies into No. 1 (WHERE you will stay) will be both an inspiration for fellow-trackers and for us to give some individual hints, where necessary, helping you to make the best of your stay in Frankfurt. Otherwise feel free to contact us at any time - either in the forum or via PN.

Some general hints on locations of your hotels to the planned meeting point at the central railway station: There is a multitude of underground trains, trams and busses that take you right to that place. It is THE central hub in Frankfurt for public transportation with a price of € 2,40 per ticket (single ride).
Anyway, if you wish to keep an eye on distance, a certain pleasance and the centrality of your location, try to find a place to stay within these boundaries: (Also see Google Earth and check out sites such as tripadvisor)
Western boundary: The central railway station itself and the road "Am Hauptbahnhof"
Northern boundary: Mainzer Landstraße, Taunusanlage, Hochstraße
Eastern boundary: Kurt-Schumacher Straße
Southern boundary: The railway tracks in Frankfurt-Sachsenhausen, beyond the river Main.
Outside these boundaries, accomodations might be cheaper and you still get well to the meeting places and back home. Me, I will spend all the days in Frankfurt-Niederrad, where my girl friend HeartofGold lives. Also from there it is just a 11-minutes-tram ride to get to the main station.
Due to traffic, scarcity of parking lots and the obligation to have a green eco-sticker on your car if you wish to enter the city-center, we suggest you plan to move by public transport within the city. Foreign cars are not exempt from this said sticker-obligation. See more at Low Emission Zone Frankfurt And this page offers a wider variety of languages.
However, we have not yet seen foreign cars whose drivers have been "molested" by our cops and releasing eight by force ...
Some people have already made their arrangements in the nice town of Flörsheim am Main. This is where we will spend saturday evening. From Flörsheim, the train ride to Frankfurt central station takes 25 minutes; on saturdays twice per hour, on sundays once per hour. For those participants coming in by plane: There is no direct train from the airport to town; so you need to take the regional train S8 or S9 to the Frankfurt main station and there you need to change into train S 1 to Flörsheim.
More information on public transport within Frankfurt and / or the region see here.

My flight leaves at 14:20, although I'll obviously need to be at the gate a bit earlier than that. I'm travelling with only some hand luggage, so I think I'll have enough time for the airport procedures.
