Unfortunately that's true. As my deal with the bank:
domestic and SEPA:
to a bank branch : 0.50 Euro via Internet - 1.00 Euro via Mobile
to a different bank: 1.00 Euro vIa Internet - 1.50 Euro via Mobile
If you do it directly in bank at the desk: 2.50 Euro
So the maximum amount for EUR transfers should be 2.50EUR, for a 10 EUR amount paypal is indeed cheaper. :o (at least for a German paypal account, I don't know if they have a uniform fee schedule Europe wide)
(but Italy complies with the EU regulation, as long as it is not more expensive than the domectic transfers...)

What do you think about to have a standard proxy form for users who can't join EBTM08?

So they can fill and give it to delegates they have chosen

There will be proxies available "soon".

I would like first to see if some people are indicating their interest for candidating to the Board.

I have a questions about the candidacies...
A person has 2 citizenships and lives officially in both countries for which country can she candidate?
Or even worse if she lives in a third country ;-)

The statutes mention that the candidate for resprensenting a country must be a resident of the country. It solves (again  ) your problem !

If a Turk is resident in Portugal he could theoretically candidate for Portugal, even if he is also resident of Germany, for example.

The term "resident" is linked to the legal interpretation one could do.

But, as you have already seen, I do not really like to solve "theoretical" problems, I do prefer real problems.

Because in practical term, the problem can be solved easily... 8)

Either you candidate for Italy or for Slovenia...

If you candidate for Italy, for example and another Italian resident get elected, then it would be too bad for you !

And by the way, in which country do you pay your taxes on income ?

I guess the French statutes of Association Européenne des EuroBillTrackers are the official statutes and the original statutes of the European Society of EuroBillTrackers ("a non-profit international organization under the laws of Belgium") is just a first version - so: could the official statutes be once again translated into English so that we who are willing to join but don't understand French could read and understand it before signing acknowledgement of having read and accepted the statutes? I really won't sign anything that I don't understand.

When I passed the statutes from Belgian law to French law, the changes were very limited :

changing the address and changing the reference to the legal text.

For the rest has remained unchanged ; and these elements contain the real essence of the association.

At my bank (Sparda-Bank) I must pay 9 Euro for this 10 Euro transfer 8O
Perhaps I can transfer 10 Euro in Germany free to you and you transfer it for me to France? :)

This is illegal. There is an EU law enforcing that EU money transfers must cost the same as a transfer within the country. See http://europa.eu/rapid/pressReleasesAct ... anguage=en (German) or http://europa.eu/rapid/pressReleasesAct ... anguage=en(English). You have to give the IBAN and SWIFT code, otherwise it might be more expensive. If your bank claims something different, remind them on this EU law or tell them that you will inform the "Verbraucherzentrale" :)

The internet site of my bank has a separate tab for international money transfers and SEPA transfers. You can do exactly the same transfer with IBAN and SWIFT/BIC numbers on both tabs, but only transfers done with SEPA form are free of charge. Are you sure your bank doesn't have a separate SEPA/EU-transfer form too?
Aina ei voi voittaa :/

Your are right. Transfer with IBAN and Swift is free for me. It was my mistake..
