An interesting point about dubbing: Dubbing in east Europe ;)

Polish channel four can be viewed by my television in Espoo (no idea why). They only show 20-year-old programs originally made in English but dubbed into Polish.
There appears to be exactly one dubber in the whole country. He dubs both men's and women's lines. And he also describes what happens in the movie. Like this: "And now Lassie says 'woof'. 'Oh, Lassie said woof', says little girl. 'Yes, that's what it did', answers her father". All this with a businesslike sound. It's scary. Estonian people don't describe their movies during the movies, but they only got one dubber, too.
And btw, neither of those men know anything about acting. They just mumble everything without thinking what they're reading.

I don't want to see east European porn :D

When I was small (3-4 years old), my favourite program on the tv was a German language course 8O . I come from a working class family, so my parents were "slightly" surprised, when I was starting to greet them in German and repeat everything I had heard on the telly. Guten Tag! :P

Is that still so 8O  ... I've been in Poland in '97 and I'm suprised they didn't change their dubbing culture. We're living in the 21st century!
I remember, it's realy strange: a little girl with a heavy male voice  .

Does anyone watch 24, with Kiefer Sutherland as Jack Bauer? If you are NOT Dutch, in which episode of which serie are you now? We in Holland are waiting for episode 9 of the third series, tomorrow!

"24" is the only program I don't want to miss. In Flanders we're at episode 18 of the third series. I've watched so far the complete second and third series. From the first serie, I only saw the last episode so I already know how it ends :?

Besides 24, I occasionaly watch The Simpsons and the news.
Oh yeah, it's the first week of January, so let's play darts on the BBC!

Ein fall für zwei is something I don't want to miss. Today it's Der Alte day. Like Asiamanic said in EBT-meeting, it is a little bit boring but I like it too. Makes me want to travel to Germany when I watch German speaking programs :P

My all time favorites:

Twin Peaks
The X-Files
Band of Brothers
Sex and the City
Frasier

Did I miss anything?

Some good ones at the moment:

CSI
24
South Park
Stargate is cool too. Do they make that series anymore?
And Alias...I watch it because Jennifer Garner has some nice clothes in some episodes...and hairdos :P
