Isnik was greek populated until 1922 until the army of Kemal Ataturk chased greeks from there and caused genocide.Over 1.000.000 came to Grece as refugees from minor Asia and they founded cities using the old names.Like Nikea,Nea Smyrni,Nea Peramos and many more.
Isnik comes from the greek is nikea (εις Νικαια) which means at Nikea.Same thing happens with Constantinople (Istanbul=is tin Poli),Smyrni (ismir=is smirni).
There is also Nice in France and Nice in Serbia.
