A user in the Dutch forum (wouter) suggested we should have a poll about this, so here it is.

I don't even remember how I got here! :)
It was at the end of may, and exams were comming closer and closer..
And because I always get extremely bored during exam weeks, I looked for foreign euro coins on the Internet.
(I never study much, so I had a lot of time back then :p)

I don't know exactly where I got this link, but I liked the concept.
And although the site was extremely slow at that moment (due to a Ddos-attack, I think), I still registered and began to enter my notes.

And a few days later I discovered this forum, and I'm still addicted :D
Tiger : Dutch, English, French, German

I knew of Whereisgeorge and some Dutch tracking site, back in the pre-Euro day's, and decided to see if there was a trackingsite for the Euro.
One step done, many more to go

Before the Euro banknotes hit the market, I knew of a site called www.wheresthemoney.nl.

I thought once the Euro was there they would change into tracking Euro banknotes. Even up till now they did not make the change.

So early January I visited their site. But nothing changed. Somewhere in the middle of January I found EBT in their forum. I searched for other sites too, but no site was tracking Euro banknotes at that time, although some had this intention.

The week after I first discovered EBT I joined and started tracking.

Somebody (from NCB of Finland or from Finnish printer) told in the first days of January in an interview that a note he had wasn´t printed by Finnish Setec. He said that the printing quality was not as good and laughed. (Probably it was 50 € printed in UK. )

Since then I looked always the serial numbers of my bank notes, but all started with L.
Then in March I got this note. :)
The serial number started with a letter X. I used google to get more information. I ended up to a Greek site and there was a banner of EBT. I followed it. :)
I didn't enter this German note during my first visit. Later in the same day I got also an Italian and a Spanish 20 € banknote from an atm. I came back and entered first this German note anonymously. Then I joined and entered the rest of the banknotes. I like this very much. :D

In januari, I was interested, how the banknotes from Germany would integrate in the Dutch banknote circuit and I had discovered, that Germany had x notes and Holland had P notes.

So I started looking at all my notes for x or p on it... :D

I was looking and discovering new banknotes from Austria (n) (from a collegue on Wintersport) Italian (received from someone I had contact with on the internet) and a unknown code (v) received from someone in Canada...and I started to get curious what the V would stand for...

I asked the European Bank in the end of Januari, by e-mail, how to see the differences on the banknotes and received a list and explanations....

After that, I was looking at all my notes and discovered Spanish, French and Belgian banknotes...

I liked the tracking game, but had no idea, how to start any statistics....

Than in September, the newspaper had this article about EBT...
I wished I had known about EBT earlier...

I was on a dutch site which was studying how coins distribute throughout the countries. I read the theory and found a link to this site.
I was sceptical at first (low probability) but checked out the complete lists, and thought it was worth a shot.

And then I was hooked.

I saw a link in a Finnish computer magazine's 'Picked from the web' section. They didn't like the site and called it waste of time or something like that, but U git interested about the idea and so I surfed in and registred right away because it was so easy and inserted my first notes.
But it took me three months of Eurobilltracking before I visited this forum first time

My wife copied an article from a business magazine, in which EBT was mentioned. But since I only got this one copy, I don't know which magazine it was..
So I registered and visit the site(and forum) every day.

I've also read about this site from Finnish computer magazine and heard from my classmate. But I think that I first saw the address of this site in someone's signature when I was reading newsgroups. It could be one of those best (Finnish) referers signature.
