Do + Have is uncorrect

Thanks
Says who? Both are possible, though the option "have got" is preferred in BE, while the other version is more AE (at least I think so )

And no, I don't have children (yet). Really not sure about that yet.

English is a foreign language for the larger majority on this forum. Most people (myself included) don't know the difference between AE and BE, some don't know what's good English. English on this forum is just a communication device, a vehicle to express ourselves on a level most of us can understand. I don't feel the urge to discuss which version of English is the proper one, as long as we understand each other.
Especially as most native speakers use both expressions, apparently. (click)

And good luck, lazza!

Well, just do what you like... I just felt like mentionning it... I feel sorry to have pointed out a mistake. Maybe I shouldn't do it in the future...

Both ways of saying it are fine. Since I grew up in the US, "do you have children" comes the most naturally to me. "Have you got..." is probably more British, but both work on both sides of the pond

PS: To get back on topic, and since I never responded to this poll, no, I don't have kids. I haven't got any either

Thanks for all the wishes... now the waiting game!

(Oh, and "Do you have" is just as acceptable as "Have you got". If anything, the first of these might be slightly better English, as it simply uses the the verb "have" (plus an auxilliary "do"), whereas the the second term uses "have" as the auxilliary and "got" as the verb, which is really not quite the right verb for possessing something - in this case children)

Well it seems I owe an apology for my previous statement.

It's strange, but I remember sitting in a classroom and having a english teacher making so mush fuss about the "Do+have"-rule.

But maybe I am simply growing old... I get confused...

Don't worry, Phaseolus! Do you yourself speak French the way the grammar says you should? I definately don't speak Finnish the way it should be spoken.

Certainly, I make mistakes in my mother tongue ; but I try to correct my errors when someone point them out to me (and my wife does it perfectly... )

I do not know whether this feeling exists in other languages, but in French it is important to speak a correct language if you aim a job with a certain position, etc... Our society is a bit strict on this point.

But I believe I am now 100% off-topic.

To put the topic straight :

My 3 kids are just fine !

It's hard job, but it is such a pleasure even if we would have liked that things would go easier sometimes...

You have children because at a certain point (three times at least in your case), you had sexual contact with someone...

is this the explanation you were seeking for ?
