Sleeping rituals...

Post by groentje »

I was wondering, after reading the 'what do you drink for breakfast'-item, if people have a 'slaapmutsje', or bedtime drink in Europe. And which other rituals people have before going to sleep.

I normally drink a glass of cocoa, or like today, a glass of water with lemon (two actually), and go to the toilet and to bed. I used to read a lot before completely going to sleep, but I don't do that anymore. I will put off my glasses and go to sleep.

And which rituals do you have?

I do exectly the same as you. Sometimes when the book is really good I read the hole book and then it is much to late for sleeping.....

I've always eaten a few deciliters of youghurt or pudding or something like that before going to sleep. Yesterday I moved to a new home at last. That's the first one that really feels like a real home. And I had problems falling asleep because I hadn't remembered to buy any yoghurt. That wasn't a problem in my old home, because I didn't feel like being home anyway :P

I just had a beer and I am planning to go to sleep soonish.

Usually I don't drink anything before going to sleep. I have a glass of water next to my bed for the case I wake up thirsty in the middle of the night.

I just lay down and (as told by my wife) when my ear hits the pillow I'm gone.

... and if it takes sometime longer I get a book and I will be asleep within 10 minutes.

I don't have anykind of "ritual". When i feel like i'm enough tired to go sleep, i just go without any "planned" ritual. If needed, i shut down my computer and go to toilet.

Sometimes i drink coffee before i go to sleep. Sometimes i feel that i'm too tired to sleep, and when i'm feeling like that i can't sleep without coffee. Same with food, if i'm too hungry, i eat something and go to bed.

me and my boyfriend take, before we go to bed, a few minutes to talk about the day sometimes with a glass of porto, martini or wine. then i take my pill, close the shutters, check my boyfriends back for pimples, rub his back with bodylotion and go to sleep.

and when I had too much to drink, I just don't feel like doing that all so I fall into bed and sleep richt away

My sleeping ritual is to visit EBT, read the forum, and correct the bills of
people who have been so unfortunate to make a mistake. I have just been
correcting 80 bills of somebody who mixed up the solar studio with the bank
in his/her town (this user will recognize him/herself, so I won't mention
his/her name!)! :x
