New user.. and all my hits moderated

Post by A0000001A »

Good morning,

to introduce myself, I am a collector of EUR banknotes from Germany, but I also use EBT for information purposes and in some way it's fun to enter notes and have hits and so on, but I don't have the time to enter thousands and millions of notes so I just do this from time to time with a little number of notes which I have in my wallet.

Yesterday I got the idea to enter my whole collection to EBT (around 600 noteS). And then, well I got some 90 hits. It's not that I am turned on in any way by having a hit, especially if I see that the other guy is also a collector, and most certainly I have this note from him. It's only interesting for me to see how a note travelled, who had it once, and who has it now. I think that's pretty close to the meaning of EBT but now all my hits are moderated. Yes. ALL not them, not only those with other collectors.

I don't care at all if I have 100 hits or 10 hits, I don't need this to feel better. But I don't understand how this is in conformity with the meaning of EBT.

So my collection consists of 3 different notes
a) notes I found myself UNC from ATMs - logically that I did not have any hit
b) notes I got from other collectors - I had many hits
c) notes I bought at Delcampe - some hits which are considered public serials
d) notes I found myself in circulation and I decided to keep - I had a few hits - and these are real hits because I don't know the other person at all and I got these notes from several ATMs and not from a single person.

I don't care if you moderate all hits from b), although to my mind this is a real hit, because Person A held this note in his hands, and months, even years later, I hold this note in my hands, so this note really travelled. But even if moderated, I can still see it with (+) so I can see all necessary information, who owned this note once and where, and who own's it now.
c) should be moderated hits, that's also my opinion.

BUT I have a problem with d). Because these are notes which I actually got from circulation so this s a real hit, should also be a hit with your interpretation of a hit.

http://de.eurobilltracker.com/notes/?id=137730518" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

So it would be nice, even mandatory, to reactivate those hits if EBT wants to save it's face, otherwise I can't take this site serious anymore.
Because of the other "hits" - we could discuss, because my opinion is different from yours, but I don't think that there will be any outcome so I will accept this, because I don't care enough to waste my time with silly discussion about things that don't bring me any satisfaction at all.

Best regards
Tobias

Thank you for your explanation.

Since the moderators saw a lot of exotic hits in your account they recognized, that you are a banknote collector and moderated your hits. As you recognized right, notes from b) and c), which get hits, are not interesting, and notes from d) should be unmoderated. But how should moderators distinct between the different cases? Therefor you have 2 possibilities to ask for demoderation:

make a support request (if you are logged in to EBT)
or
put a posting in the Please Moderate / Unmoderate this Hit-thread.

Since you already requested the demoderation of some hits i just want to ask some questions:
http://en.eurobilltracker.com/notes/?id=134439909" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
The comment of your hitpartner means "collection", so it seems it is also a banknote collector. But if you really got this note in an ATM, no problem to demoderate.

This is the opinion of japh about this hit:
japh wrote:I am not a note collector myself but i have sent interesting notes to some people who requested them.
My hit with A0000001A is a note that I sent to a Greek user who must have passed it on. It is not a real hit.
http://en.eurobilltracker.com/notes/?id=137730518" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
The hitpartner is the well known €-expert ye olde & uj and the comment is "collection pmk". So again a banknote collector and there is no comment on your side, so no possibility for us to understand how you find this note.
http://en.eurobilltracker.com/notes/?id=137731295" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; : hit with skanderbeg
http://en.eurobilltracker.com/notes/?id=137730531" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; : hit with dserrano
Both users have to do with banknote collectors, so not impossible you get this notes also from another banknote collector.

The only hit i have no problem to unmoderate without any further explanation is the hit with :flag-fr: juga.

But i hope you understand my considerations, if the other hits are really from type d).

Hi,

thanks for your explanation,
I don't have in my mind every single note I have in my collection, so I could be mistaking,

I can only make a comment for these notes:

http://en.eurobilltracker.com/notes/?id=134439909" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
I am 100 % sure that I got this from ATM, also the other person entered this note over 7 years ago, so most certainly it was given back into circulation in the last 7 years. The condition of the note is also very used.

http://de.eurobilltracker.com/notes/?id=137731295" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
OK I can't be sure with that note

http://en.eurobilltracker.com/notes/?id=137730518" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
definitely a really great coincidence, I know ye olde, but I got this note from ATM. Seeing the large amount of notes that he entered, there is a good chance for this hit. Although, it could be suspicious for you to believe, I am 99,9% sure that I got this note from ATM. Usually, I enter all Duisenberg notes that I find from ATM, because the chance of hit is higher. I still own this banknote, in very used condition.

With the other hits, I can't be 100% sure so it's ok if they stay moderated.

Regards T.

FWIW, my hit with him is with a regular :note-10: G017/X and I don't think I've ever traded/swapped such a note. No guarantee but I would be surprised if that were the case, so I think it should be unmoderated too.
