My real name is Tobias, and at first my nick was 'Tobe' or 'Toby'

Then I tried to find a better nickname to use while online gaming.
And I found 'Virtual T' (sucks, I know :d)
It had something 'Internetish' in it, and the first letter of my real name.

Then I went into a quake2 clan, called 'The Animal Team' and we were supposed to have an animal's name.
So I made 'Virtual Tiger'.

But Since Quake2 only allowed 10 characters or so, that nickname was too long.
So I just called myself 'Tiger' from that day on :)
And your last name begins with H????
If so I think we have met before then on irc... :D

my nickname is from my school days a long time ago, and is a bit of a leap to get to.

Locally, when I was a teenager, it was common (and/or cool 8) ??!) to give people a nickname ending *azza, so Sharon became Shazza, Darren became Dazza, and Gary became Gazza (or, more famously, Paul Gascoigne, the footballer, became Gazza).

My surname is Lamb (hence the picture), and when my friends and I were small, there was a children's TV character called Larry the Lamb. So firstly, I became Larry, then I became Lazza... although I also use laz on some forums.

Obvious?!!?

I didn't like it to start with, but the name has stuck for the last XX years, so it can't be too bad.

Well, nomen est omen as the Romans used to say

Nomen Nescio is in fact a kind of secondary nic for me when I don't want to use my primary one which I have used since the early 90s. The strange fact is that Nomen Nescio usually isn't used by anyone else, a fact which suits me just fine

My nickname comes from:

We bought our son a fishing rod, and the brand name was Bluefox. It comes mounted on a big card. I just kept the card in the back window of my car, so although I don't have it standing up for drivers behind to see, passers-by (pedestrians) might see it.

I needed a name on another forum a couple of years ago, and I liked Bluefox, tried it, and it was free. I thought to use it here, but it was already taken :( . (I wonder who's got it :?: ). So I substituted the F for PH so it still reads like Bluefox! :)

Joshu, a Chinese Zen master, asked a cow:
"Do you have Buddha-nature or not?"
The cow answered: "Moo."
