Elongated Coins

Post by IncredibleMC »

Hello everybody,

you know, that Dot-Hunting is one thing for EBTs. I´m connecting it with collecting ELONGATED COINS.

Penny-Smashers look like this:

I would like to know, where those Penny-Smashing-Machines are. That would be great :)
Please let me know, where I can find those machines, and if possible make a photo of the machine.

And if you are collecting those coins too , we can exchange :)

I have one from a 5 cent piece on our vacation in Normandie with a picture of "Le clocher Sainte-Catherine" in Honfleur. The machine stood in the local librairy at Rue Montpensier.

The Linnanmäki amusement park in Helsinki has one of those machines and I think the TV tower in Berlin has one as well, to name a few.

I know there's one at the TV tower and one at checkpoint Charlie.
In Brussels there is one near "manneken pis"

There has been one many many years ago in Munich, at the stairway of St. Peter's Church.

I don't know if that machine is still there, I haven't looked at it when we had this EBT-meeting ;)

Ask me again in summer, when the amusement park is open, and I'll go check it. There is no entrance fee to the park, you only pay for the actual rides.
It was years ago that I was there the previous time, but I remember where it stood back then.

Regarding Slovenia I've heard those machines are in Kranjska Gora, Piran (aquarium) and Volčji Potok (arboretum) and probably at much more places.

I saw a similar machine two years ago in Hamburg, in the top of St. Michaelis Church.
Two kinds of coins can be chosen, a Michel view or a Bismarck-Denkmal.

In a German forum there is a looong thread about such elongated coin machines. Started in 2007, so it may make sense to begin at the end, where the most recent posts are. :) http://www.emuenzen.de/forum/allgemeine ... tehen.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
