13 places, but in 1 of them I was a very very very little baby, so I put it under parenthesis

The great canyon of Colorado
The Niagara waterfalls
Venice and its canals
The Vatican and the Saint Peter's basilica
The Coliseum
The frescoes of the Sixtin church
Florence, the duomo and the ponte vecchio
(The mont Saint-Michel)
The Eiffel tower
The Louvre museum
The city of Prague
The parliament of Budapest
The golden gate bridge and the San Francisco bay

By the way, I don't agree with the ranking: I visited some places in Japan absolutely beautiful, surely more than the Golden Gate in San Francisco, for example :wink:

De-Ker wrote:Okay according to http://terre.sans.frontiere.free.fr/pag ... op_100.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; those are 100 most beautiful places in the world. Which one have you seen?

- 13 -
The Niagara waterfalls
country : Canada - United States of America
place : Niagara, near Toronto

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Yes. Make sure you see them from the Canadian site, then it is not so disappointing. Honestly, I was not so fond of them.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

- 14 -
- 26 -
Bali island
country : Indonesia
place : east of Java island
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Don't know how often I have been there already. A real divine island, full of lush nature, fascinating culture and overwhelmingly friendly people.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

- 35 -
Venice and its canals
country : Italia
place : Venice
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Venice is great, and nicest off the beaten track between San Marco Square and Rialto Bridge. Don't worry if you might lose your way in the lanes. Somehow you will always make it back to the bridge or the square.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

- 49 -
The Buddhistic temple of Borobudur
country : Indonesia
place : in the middle of the Java island
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
In the reliefs you get a great impression of Javanese life more than 1.000 years ago. Make sure you stay in the city of Yogyakarta. To me it seemed the only beautiful big town in Indonesia.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

- 53 -
Florence, the duomo and the ponte vecchio
country : Italia
place : Florence
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Like going back into the Middle Ages. Great tip!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

- 54 -
- 60 -
The royal palace and the Wat Phra Kaeo, the emerald buddha temple
country : Thailand
place : Bangkok
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Been there, too. Beware of so-called guides who offer their services already outside the premises.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

- 61 -
- 63 -
The Eiffel tower
country : France
place : Paris
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I took a nice photo right under it. That was enough. I liked Montparnasse Tower much more.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

- 64 -
- 72 -
The Neuschwanstein castle
country : Germany
place : near the border with Austria, south of Munich
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Walt Disney for Asian tourists. Anyway, it is worth visiting it, although the guides rather rush you than guide you through it. Make sure you arrive there early in the morning. Queues might be shorter.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

- 73 -
- 78 -
The statue of Liberty and the Manhattan view
country : United States of America
place : New-York
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Downright breathtaking! Hongkong, however, is catching up!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

- 81 -
The city of Prague
country : Czech Republic
place : Prague
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We had been there in our last year at school when it was still a socialist capital. We liked it; lots of culture and architechture.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

-
The Burj al arab hotel
country : the United Arab Emirates
place : Dubai
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We were standing at the gates, but more than 32 € fee just to look inside seemed a bit high, so we have left again. Anyway, a nice landmark.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

The Petronas towers
country : Malaysia
place : Kuala Lumpur
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Make sure you take a walk around the Petronas towers after nightfall. The lights of it and the park - simply relaxing and impressive.
i've been to numbers 38 44 46 51 53 63 67 68 79 90.
That's 10%.
Like some of the other posters I do not understand all choices.
