They are going to do something about this building. This Navy building will be camouflaged for $600,000. Landscaping, rock structures and solar panels should help disguise its shape.

they made a huge 1:500 model landscape:

and it is a model of a 500 km big area of the chinese-indian border:

these are four 4m high walls that form a square. There are 15 cm wide gaps between each two walls, I saw some grass through these gaps, but without a camera, I couldn't see what's in the centre of the thing.
same thing but with only three walls, same town, 5 km away, very strange

That's some reeeal bad way of censoring. Firstly, if you zoom a bit out, you see everything somewhat clearly. That, together with the fading at the sides of the cencored area, makes it super easy for anyone interested to figure out what's going on.

Errm, I don't think that the purpose of this measure was to hide the existence of the airbase, a simple search on Wikipedia explains quite clearly what is located there. The main point is rather to hide the "important" details.

Of course I figured that out. However, they just arrested a criminal in Germany by unscrambling a picture cencored in that manner. That pretty well proves it's possible doing that.

Maybe otherwise the activists would be visible, who protested against the chop of the wood at the other side of the Dutch border for this German airfield.

Maybe, but not by "zooming out a little." :P

I am not sure what "criminal arrested in Germany" you are referring to, if you're talking about the Canadian child abuser, that's a case a little different. If you look at the pictures, he just "swirled" the pixel information, i.e. all the pixels that picture ever contained are still there but have moved from their original position:

Still, it took the BKA's experts about three years to produce a proper image from the swirled pic. Contrary to all that, the censored part of the google map linked above clearly has lost pixel information.

that's right, you cannot unscrambe an image where the detailed information has been removed. That part of the map is now just in a less detailed resolution, just like other parts of the world where Google has no detailed maps.
Also, not Google did the censoring, they say they got already censored map data. In the eastern part of the airbase, the censored map is fading into an uncensored map where you see more details.
