signature Trichet
Has anybody got a note with Trichet's signature yet? According to http://www.ecb.int/change/eurobnfaq_en.htm#sec4 (Question 13) all notes printed since 1 Novermber 2003 bear Trichets signature. Up to now I have noticed Duisenberg's signature only. Maybe I have been unlucky
, but I must admit that I often forget to check the signature.

Re: signature Trichet
Samples of JCT's signature started to be shipped to the printing facilities in December, and printing new notes has probably just started. So it's pretty sure that those notes are not yet in circulation.-peter_at wrote:Has anybody got a note with Trichet's signature yet? Anyway, in 2003, no JCT-notes have been printed.

His signature (http://www.ecb.int/pub/pdf/monetarypolicy2004en.pdf LARGE pdf file, page 8 ) seems to be somewhat similar to Duisenbergs, so it won't be very easy to recognize it if you don't pay attention.

This was published yesterday (monday) on ECB website:

(original news item: en de fr nl fi es pt it)Euro banknotes with the signature of the ECB President, Jean-Claude Trichet
Euro banknotes bearing the signature of Mr Jean-Claude Trichet, President of the European Central Bank (ECB), are starting to come into circulation. Production of these banknotes began shortly after Mr Trichet became President on 1 November 2003.
This is in line with Article 1 (2) of ECB Decision ECB/2001/7 on the denominations, specifications, reproduction, exchange and withdrawal of euro banknotes, as last amended by Decision ECB/2003/4, which states that "other elements of the [banknote] designs shall include...the signature of the President of the ECB".
Banknotes with Mr Trichet's signature are issued by the euro area national central banks in the normal way, i.e. to replace unfit banknotes and to meet any increase in demand for specific denominations. They circulate alongside those bearing the signature of his predecessor, Mr Willem F. Duisenberg. Both categories of banknote are equally valid. Neither should be regarded as a collector's item.
