Re: "Europa": 2nd series of euro banknotes
i would be verry carefull with these , if these trichet notes were not intended to be circulated by the national bank this could even go about someone who stole them and spend them

Re: "Europa": 2nd series of euro banknotes
Some stolen €10 notes turned up in Hamburg:

Re: "Europa": 2nd series of euro banknotes
As the article (in German) says, about 700 of them had been stolen last month. A Hamburg company that produces banknote authentication sensors had received such "samples" as a secured loan from the Bundesbank, for testing purposes, so that the machines work OK when the notes are issued in about four months.
On the last weekend in April, somebody already wanted to pay with such "new" notes at a gas station. The cashier thought the notes were counterfeit, called the police, and the men were arrested. About 90 notes were found.
In this latest case the taxi driver even joked about the color ("the red in your photocopies is too intense") but accepted the notes when the passenger explained that these were new, like the new fiver last year. The next day our driver goes to his bank and is told that yes, these notes are authentic but not legal tender yet. Don't know whether he can actually keep them; after all it is obvious that the "source" is a theft ...

He's probably the first man in history cheated with a regular payment rate with genuine notestabbs wrote: In this latest case the taxi driver even joked about the color ("the red in your photocopies is too intense") but accepted the notes when the passenger explained that these were new, like the new fiver last year. Re: "Europa": 2nd series of euro banknotes
It's the final countdown. Less than 30 days left for the release of the new
notes!

Re: "Europa": 2nd series of euro banknotes
looking at those pictures , they dont look new but more as changed hands a few times
Re: "Europa": 2nd series of euro banknotes
They were used for testing, it's quite possible they were stolen after they already went through a few machines and hands.maarsy wrote:looking at those pictures , they dont look new but more as changed hands a few times

Re: "Europa": 2nd series of euro banknotes
By the way, in case you are in or near The Hague (Den Haag, NL), you can still see the new
ahead of time - until 1 September. The traveling exhibition "The New Face of the Euro", at the City Hall Atrium (Spui 70), also features pre-euro notes and coins from the euro countries.

Re: "Europa": 2nd series of euro banknotes
Will we really get all those new combinations? I guess it is possible, except for the Luxembourg notes. This is impossible because of the Luxembourgian law (which states that banknotes should depict the Grand Duke of Luxembourg).davidzaz wrote:Yes!, one moth to+BBBB+ wrote:It's the final countdown. Re: "Europa": 2nd series of euro banknotes
Those country's are the NCB's issuing the notes, not the printers printing them. The serial numbers of the new notes refer to the printer, not the NCB.googlejaps wrote:Will we really get all those new combinations? I guess it is possible, except for the Luxembourg notes. Re: "Europa": 2nd series of euro banknotes
As already mentioned before: the new notes will have only the letter from the printer and has nothing to do with the countries.davidzaz wrote:ok for the Luxembourg notes, and others combinations? SI,SK,FI,MT...... We will see....![]()
