Dead straight lines on hitmaps.

Postby SeanW » Wed Jul 27, 2011 11:39 pm

I just saw, for the first time today, a hit where, on the map showing the note's travel, the line was absolutely level, horizontally.
Groningenm, NL to Dalkey, IE.
http://en.eurobilltracker.com/notes/?id=98921355

Has anyone any other examples of hit lines that are dead-level horizontally or vertically?
(i.e. straight up/down or straight across)

Salthill is 1/4 of a degree to the left compared with Leira.

I did`nt know it had to be that precise.
Oranmore would have been closer.
I am sure the note was out there before I entered it. :?

I've got one that's almost perfectly East-West: Ahaus-Utrecht.

But none that are North-South.

Edit after three more posts: Ahaus: 51 09 North, Utrecht: 51 10 North.

My NIG stats have finally disappeared. My EBTST stats are still available.

My most horizontal hit appears to be Schaffen  Vieselbach
3290 Schaffen: 51° 0' 0" N
99198 Vieselbach: 51° 0' 4" N

My most vertical hit is almost certainly 99084 Erfurt  90449 Nürnberg
99084 Erfurt: 11° 1' 46.92" E
90449 Nürnberg: 11° 1' 46.56" E

I had another look,yes it is 27/100 degree off.http://itouchmap.com/latlong.html

But,I still think it looks OK, http://en.eurobilltracker.com/notes/?id=93535382

Because we get so few :flag-ie: hits I have to keep looking at the same ones over again.
If I had 1000 hits I would not have the time.
