Dead straight lines on hitmaps.

Post by SeanW »

I just saw, for the first time today, a hit where, on the map showing the note's travel, the line was absolutely level, horizontally.
Groningenm, NL to Dalkey, IE.

Has anyone any other examples of hit lines that are dead-level horizontally or vertically?
(i.e. straight up/down or straight across)

Salthill is 1/4 of a degree to the left compared with Leira.

I've got one that's almost perfectly East-West: Ahaus-Utrecht.

But none that are North-South.

Edit after three more posts: Ahaus: 51 09 North, Utrecht: 51 10 North.

My NIG stats have finally disappeared. My EBTST stats are still available.

My most horizontal hit appears to be Schaffen :arrow: Vieselbach
3290 Schaffen: 51° 0' 0" N
99198 Vieselbach: 51° 0' 4" N

My most vertical hit is almost certainly 99084 Erfurt :arrow: 90449 Nürnberg
99084 Erfurt: 11° 1' 46.92" E
90449 Nürnberg: 11° 1' 46.56" E

I had another look,yes it is 27/100 degree off.http://itouchmap.com/latlong.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

But,I still think it looks OK, http://en.eurobilltracker.com/notes/?id=93535382" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Because we get so few :flag-ie: hits I have to keep looking at the same ones over again.
If I had 1000 hits I would not have the time.
