Hey, we got listed in the web site section of a newspaper in belgium that "interviewed" me yesterday : http://www.standaard.be/nieuwesites By the way, is this a big newspaper like Le Monde in France for example ?
The reporter said we might be in the printed version if there was space! So I guess belgium is soon going to have 60% of the bills entered ?
Have you emailed your favorite newspaper or site today ? 8)

Here is the article : can someone translate to english ?

Webmaster Philip Girolami bokste alles zelf in elkaar. Het idee haalde hij bij het Amerikaanse Where's George. Voor de vertalingen engageerde hij toevallige bezoekers op de site.

Okay, a very free translation.
Eurobills have a bigger range of distribution compared to the respective national currencies. A young webwizard from Paris plays in to this with his Eurobilltracker.

On the site you can enter serialnumbers of your eurobills. After that you use them to pay your things. Other people will do the same and sooner or later the bill shows up in another countrie.

At this moment the site has 854 users from 18 countries. There already is a banknote registered twice. A 5 euro bill from the Irish national bank went from Leeuwarden to Zwolle in the Netherlands.

Webmaster Philip Girolami made everything himself. He got the idea from the Amercan where's George. For translations he asked visitors of his site.

Ladies & gentlemen,

I am a reader of the newspaper " De Standaard" in Belgium. It already covered extensively the distribution of Euro COINS in an article on monday 28 Januari 2002 in its scientific section, under the title "The Germans are Coming". It referred to the fact that of the 65 billion ( miljard, milliard) Euro coins 35,4% is minted in Germany, 16,9% in France, 16,5% in Spain and only 4,6% in Belgium. It talked about a workgroup in the Netherlands who are trying to model the diffusion of foreign coins into each country (speed of diffusion, proportion of each nationality in the long run). To match the theory with reality they asked cooperation with the public to inventorize at least every 1st of month the content of your purse. Count the Euro coins by nationality and money value , then report it to their website http://www.wiskgenoot.nl/eurodiffusie.

It was via this website that i found this Eurobilltracker as it is referenced there.

"De Standaard" gets a printed daily issue of about 80.000 units, and is distributed in the dutch speaking part of Belgium ( also called Flanders) as it is written in Dutch language. It addresses the market segment of the "intellectual", the "cultural interested", the commerce and politic interest people.

If they cover it in their printed issue, you can bet it will be noticed. But if the audience will act upon it massively and go the the website is another question.
