What ?B I V O L wrote:No, we don't need a poll for this change, because many users don't play all these games, but they could use a poll and maybe the voting couldn't be fairdiogocanilho wrote:Do we need a poll to do it ?B I V O L wrote:The games should be separated from non-game topics .
A poll on EBT-forum that is not fair... Strange remark ?
I am not candidating if you want to be reassured

I am forum moderator for the French forum... In other forums I am a "normal" user ; so I can afford to be off-topic sometimes...B I V O L wrote:No problem Phaseolus ;
have we a topic with jokes
Ohhh, I see really just now , you are forum moderator , sorry, sorry, sorry
Anyway, your idea of a "jokes"-topic can be of interest...
Let's go back on-topic...
Now, it's time to discuss a very important issue : I summarise the point of discussion : "there seems to be not enough order in the off-topic forum" or should I say "there seems to be too much "off-topic in the off-topic forum"
Indeed, a very important issue
You're very right about to many off-topics (and not just off-topics); I'm saying just the same .Phaseolus wrote:"there seems to be not enough order in the off-topic forum" or should I say "there seems to be too much "off-topic in the off-topic forum"

Many users don't read older topics before they're opening a new one and than have forum moderators to thinkig "lock or not lock or delete" a new topic similar to older one , so I can say shortly: "more topics are producing more time to find what I'm looking for". This is just my reflection .

I agree on putting all the "games" to another board. But not the polls that ask about serious things, like [ Poll ] Time to eat! or [ Poll ] Avatar of the Month - June 2007 - these are discussions where people are asked of their opinion and do not post just to post.
Joshu, a Chinese Zen master, asked a cow:
"Do you have Buddha-nature or not?"
The cow answered: "Moo."

True. It's not a good idea forcing all polls among the games. While games are pretty much write-only, the poll discussions are read-write. Although some polls might be a bit.. er.. odd, they nevertheless give people a possibility to conversate. And unlike games, if the people don't conversate, then the poll will just sink. And a poll sunken down to the depths of page 732 sure won't be causing us trouble (or, if it will, it'll be prone to sink again if it isn't found interesting)androl wrote:I agree on putting all the "games" to another board. And, to mention.. Trying to split the polls into two according to how "important" they are would be a dangerous task. Such poll moderation would bear very little use, but would just provoke conversation similar to the hit moderation discussions..
(Suspicious polls and posters.. )
