During almost every my visit to neighbour Latvia I get as a change Lithuanian coins, as a rule it's 1€ coins. So, Lithuanian coins are quite common in neighbour Latvia already

Found in my change at a gas station on the A10 stretch of the E40 motorway near Brussels: 2€. It seems a Lithuanian truck driver made a stop.

And guess what? Today, when I paid with that coin in kiosk, the cashier looked at the coin and was saying that it's not a euro coin. Then she turned the coin and noticed that oh, it seems to be a euro coin while it's looking like strannge And I have to say that it differs from other euro coins, you immediately notice it when you look it with other coins.Aatos99 wrote:Get 10 cent coin back from my nearby S-Market food store, Helsinki. As far as I can see, the Lithuanian 10ct coin I have, has the exact same shape as the other 26 I have.Aatos99 wrote:And guess what? I just mean that it looks like totally different from the National side than other 10 cent coins.Tvx1 wrote:As far as I can see, the Lithuanian 10ct coin I have, has the exact same shape as the other 26 I have.Aatos99 wrote:And guess what? My guess - lithuanian coins have the little stripes between stars, what was needed for us to fast recognize eurocoins from litas coins and cents. Actually these stripes are only on lithuanian and maltese cent (10-50 ct) coins. Lower values are no problem - national cents were aluminium ones.Aatos99 wrote: I just mean that it looks like totally different from the National side than other 10 cent coins.

Of course they do. Each country has a unique national side. That's why they are national sides in the first place.Aatos99 wrote:I just mean that it looks like totally different from the National side than other 10 cent coins.Tvx1 wrote:As far as I can see, the Lithuanian 10ct coin I have, has the exact same shape as the other 26 I have.Aatos99 wrote:And guess what?
