OK, good. My concern is that this is something that I don't seem to be able to reproduce, so I need to rely on reports from other users to see if this works properly or not. It is also possible that this is something load related, so you could try again on Monday evening or so when there's more traffic. If you run out of notes to enter, you can try with invalid serial numbers such as V08886111509, X04878598249 and N00234588277 (ignore the red colour, pressing OK will still work).

I'm currently saving all network traffic to the server's hard disk so that I could examine the traffic later on if needed. If you (or someone else) runs into similar problems in the next few days, please report the time as accurately as possible. http://leopardi.miuku.net/time/ reports the server's time (adjust accordingly for your own timezone).

OK. I have now enabled quite a few more debugging options so that if there's a problem, I get to see the results in the logs (assuming I know the exact time). As you seem to be the only one who has had this problem, please try again today to see if the problem has indeed vanished. If I'm reading the situation right, you don't even need to enter any notes to test this. Opening the note entry page, then perhaps waiting some time (45 seconds or so) to let the idle connection close, then pressing OK should be a sufficient test.

Few test done like this. First time is start time when I was pressing OK, Second time is when I saw 'Cannot display the webpage'
First two are based on computer clock (5 seconds slow and no seconds displayed) Hope it is a help for you

All Times are EEST
12:46 12:48
12:54 12:55
13:01:30 13:02:35
13:11:05 13:13:10

Inbetween I had two times no problems and was going normal

Thanks, I'll check the logs once I'm back home (on a bus now).

There's one more thing that you could test, though -- does this also occur if you use plain http instead of https? Log in normally, then navigate to http://www.eurobilltracker.com/new and repeat the tests. Knowing this would narrow the search somewhat.

If there are others who are seeing similar issues, please let me know. Information on operating system and browser versions would be useful (I already know Burdie's info).

Alright, thanks for info. We are now running a test version of lighttpd that should fix this particular issue. Please let me know if this continues to be a problem.

There were some brief outages in the last hour while I was setting up the new test version. Even though the test version worked fine on the development server, I got bitten again by the differences in configuration between the development server and the production server. An outage that should have lasted a few seconds turned into a few minute-long outages while I was trying to adjust the configuration appropriately. Sorry for that.

The Google maps dotmap isn't working anymore for me.

When I click on my map nothing happens. I can select the grid but my dots won't show up. Tried it in Chrome, Firefox and Edge all with the same result.

This is very likely the problem already reported here in May. A "solution" was found:

Dots appear if you uncheck the Dotmap checkbox and check it again. The dotcount will then be shown too if checked.

Maybe a bit late (my reaction), but I used to have the same problems.
A few days ago I tried to enter a few notes: after "OK" the browser kept on waiting for some time (I could press OK for several times, but that didn't accelerate the proces). After some time waiting the browser answered "No connection with internet". After some attempts finally the note was enetered. This happened 3 days ago at the last.
Because my entering notes from another computer the next day didn't have any problems I thought the problem was due to mu own computer (it has some difficulties concerning "memory", but it mightbe, because the problem was solved ;) ).

I had the same kind of problems with the forum. Maybe it had the same cause?
Both with posting a new message as well as starting with a new topic the browser was busy for several minutes without any result. After trying for 3-4 times it finally managed to post my message. Because I clicked several times at "Send", I thought my message was posted more times, but it was done once.
When I tried to delete someone's "dubbel post", I received the message "You don't have the rights to do this" (allthough I'm moderator of that forum).
The 3rd time I tried to do that, it finally worked. Unfortunately I can't reproduce this, because there's nothing to "moderate" ;) .

EDIT: posting this message gave no problems :D .

Yes, it's very possible. In fact, I wondered why Burdie would have had problems only on EBT and not on the forum. "Good" to hear that someone had problems with the forum as well.

Re those above lighttpd problems -- we're now running an officially released 1.4.41, which should include all the fixes mentioned above.
