Summer EBTM09 in Vienna Aug 20-23 2009

I'm glad to announce that Vienna's candidacy for hosting the Summer EBTM 2009 has been approved by the meeting jury.

The organizers will let us know more about the timing and schedule of the meeting in the next days and weeks.

I am looking forward to know the date of the meeting.

I will be in Wien in begin of Juli and somewhere in Bayern later on and again in Austria in September.

But anyway, you can count on the presence of the PhaseoFamily in Wien.

Bologna was sadly a no, but Vienna is definitely a yes! As long as it's not in July, I'll be there!

It is very likely that there will be no voting for the dates this time. Because the organizers managed to get a visit for us at the Austrian National Bank, the meeting will take place on a date the National Bank offers. The organizers are presently fixing a date with the OeNB.

Although it would be very nice to visit the ÖNB during EBTM it's obviosly more important that the largest possible amount of users gets a chance to attend at all. I don't know any details, but I imagine that we could very well end up not knowing a date in May if it depends on the ÖNB, even though I am sure the organizers are doing everything they can at the moment to get word from them. Usually the dates are known by end of January (which IS already kind of late for many people who depend on others getting their leave approved/coordinated) so I'd suggest to fix it on February 15 latest. (with a poll before open only for a couple of days, of course always provided that it was not possible to agree on a date with the ÖNB until then)

Well, I woud still like to leave it to the organisers. We can trust that they will make sure to organise the best event and the most suitable time fiwing it at the earliest possible time.

Personaly I would really LOVE to visit the ÖNB !

And I will adapt my dates to this visit !

We do understand the before mentioned problems around the exact date of the meeting - as we also have to fix our leaves...
Concerning the visit at the OeNB at the moment we do not have a final positive notice but are very confident. That's why we decided to announce the weekend

Thursday, August 20th until Sunday, August 23rd 2009

as date for the EBT-Summer meeting. At this date there will be what ever possible together with OeNB.
So now hurry up and fix your leaves!
For the final program and registration we ask for a little patience. Concerning the registration we are planning to provide an
online-registration-form to collect all the needed data.
