UPDATE!

After a trip to Budapest, Vienna and Bratislava, I've increased the number of dots:

Europe: 230 E Map
World: 6 W Map

Total: 236 dots!

After a little dothunting trip here around where I'm working at the moment I got 6 new dots so

198 dots

+3 = 201 dots

After visiting the dutch Meeting in Groningen yesterday and Dothunting with kettenseger today, I have now:

335E + 7W = 342 Dots

2. For the UK, my strategy is to go to Post Offices - most POs, even in small towns, have a foreign exchange counter (I've only ever been to a couple of places where this wasn't the case. Although the exchange rate is not the best, they don't charge commission, and will be happy to change sell even €5 (currently not far off £5 ....!).

Yeah, I tried this the last days and it really works. But honestly, it's a very expensive way to collect dots. I exchanged at the ferry 100€ into 80£. And then on my trip through UK I stopped by some post offices and changed back 20€ each. Had to pay 19£ for each note....so finally ended up with 80€ where I spent initially 100€ Yes, you could probably optimize by getting only 5€ and so more dots, but the loss of 20€ is still the same....

Still looking for a cheaper method of getting dots in UK (even though I don't see when I'll be there next time...).

New dots in Italy, San Marino, Croatia, Bosnia-Hercegovina, Montenegro, Slovenia, Austria and Germany.

I can make two dots on my way home, buying food in the ICE (fast) train at right times of the travel.
