NIG (NoteInfoGenerator)

Postby Bobtail » Sun Aug 14, 2005 8:34 pm

NoteInfoGeneretor is a program for creating detailed statistics from note and hit data (CSVs). This is the ominous thread for NIG related discussion. ;)

The program can be downloaded from here and there are some example stats here.

First steps of Running NIG
1. NIG does not download the necessary CSV files automatically from EBT. You must do this manually while logged in EuroBillTracker (View my notes and view my hits -> Export to a CSV file).

Put everything in the same directory (nig.exe, the CSV files, any other files).

2. Run NIG and from the menu select File->Configuration. Set the name/location of your CSV files (by just typing or pressing the "Select.." button you can select them from your hard disk). First comes the note CSV and then the hit CSV.

Then close the configuration window (click ok). Now, clicking the "Create Statistics" button should give you some stats.

My comment in the finnish section about NIG is succesfull. Finally a thread about NIG in the english language. Every EBT-user should use it! And it works! Everything about your notes you want to know. The month and year topic should merge, because year has only 4 lines (2002, 2003, 2004 and 2005).

The newest feature is exporting hit coordinates to Google Earth.

Wow, that is a great new feature, finally the dutch hits are very well visible!

@Nick6502: You need to download Google Earth software to use that feature.

I guess you have to do it all manually?

OK, let's give it a try! :)

Oh, sorry for bit short info

After you have installed Google Earth, start NIG and from File-menu select "Special Operations -> Create KML file of hits for Google Earth". This should launch GE with your hits in it (if it doesn't, go to NIG folder and double click ebt_hits_for_google_earth.kml file)

Can you make a screenshot, please? My computer is too old to run GoogleEarth and I'm very curious about this feature.
