Apparently it's not possible, just as I thought.

So I guess if you submit a post while not logged in then the only way is to log in afterwards and make a new post stating that the previous Guest-post was yours. Am I right?

(Asking this because Senior suggested in another thread that one could edit a Guest-post to add the sender name and thus avoid additional posts. I have always thought this is not possible. Am I missing something :?: )

Craft, you're absolutely correct. Sometimes I (as a moderator) fix those errors by replacing the text of the "sorry I forgot to login" message with the message text that was supposed to be there, and then deleting the guest message. I don't know the opinion of other moderators, but for me it'd be easiest if people would just enter the same message again (completely unmodified!), this time while properly logged in. This way I could simply delete the duplicate guest message, much quicker for me.

I agree avij. Something like 'sorry I forgot to login' is also enough.
