To be precise: here (engl) you can find the notes the OeNB still changes. The only importanat-to-change one is the "Carl Ritter v. Ghega" 20 ATS note, which is no longer convertible than 30/09/2009.

It looks like the organisers have spent a lot of time creating their tour of Vienna!

I have a question about the trip to Bratislava though: in the programme, it says that you need a passport. Is a regular ID (like the Belgian eID) enough, or should it actually be a passport (that little book-thing with stamps in it)?

Since Slovakia is a Schengen-country there will be most likely no controls at the border, but you still need a valid travel document all the time with you. Since it is necessary for you to fullfill this regulation also coming to Austria, it should be no problem.

I can talk only for :flag-at: Austrians going to :flag-sk: Slovakia: we need a valid passport or a valid identy card, eg. our driving license is not enough for this trip!
So if you have any doubts about your travel document, please inform yourself at your Ministry of Foreign Affairs, they should provide you with the necessary information.

I always have it with me, at any time! :)
Just the fact that in the schedule it said "passport" was a bit confusing, since an ID is not a passport.

Well, I was for the first time in slovakia 2004, and I hadn't got a passport at all at that time and there were border controls at that time. I never needed one until now, my german ID card is sufficient within the EU... even 1999 in hungary is was ok.
