I´m not sure about this press meeting. The thing is, you´ve got to have something to say and I´m not quite sure what that could be. "Hi we´re EBT and it´s great fun, please tell your readers/viewers/listeners" doesn´t cut it. And a landmark in bills, members, value, whatever, unfortunately doesn´t add too much weight to the argument...
Believe me, I wish it would, I´m just trying to be realistic.

Is it sure that a visit is possible at a Saturday?Mr Euro wrote:visiting the Belgian National Bank (3€ pp in a group of +15 people) -asking for a special €guide-.
How special a guide can we ask for? I'd be interested in the production process (roll-fed offset in France, sheet-fed offset in most of Euroland; cutting sheets, numbering) and its influence on the serial number / printer code relationship; and in the details of circulation (life time of notes before getting shreddered, ...). Will it be possible to get those types of questions answered at all? And on a Saturday?
Thomas,
It was a suggestion. The saturday is still open for debate about what to do.
IF we visit the Belgian National Bank, I don't think a guide will be answering those type of questions you have. I even wonder if most of us want to ask those questions... Maybe they would think that we are counterfitters if you ask questions about production and stuff?
I rather know some answers on general questions like:
When is a bill taken out of roulation and what happens with the serial?
What are reasons to take a bill out roulation?
Why poolingnotes?

that means: in principle, a visit is possible on Saturdays. That is for sure?Mr Euro wrote:IF we visit the Belgian National Bank, ...
If they know we are from EBT, they might realize that we are not criminals. But anyway, they probably would refuse to tell much about it.Mr Euro wrote:... You mean, whether the serials are used again? Of course, these are things that can be learned by reading this Forum and the ECB's FAQ :-)Mr Euro wrote:When is a bill taken out of roulation and what happens with the serial?

Okay, in this thread we need to have a discussion again.
The day could be looking like this
Pressmeeting
Visit the national bank
Lunch
Visit Mini-Europe + Atonium
Diner
Brussels by night, visit landmarks like (Manneke Pis, grote markt, ...)
Any other suggestions? Anyone who already is participating has something he/she wants to see ???

The list of activities you suggested seems OK to me. Furthermore I agree with thomas that there doesn't need to be much of a program for most of the day. If there's nothing to do, we will have enough fun just being together I think

The Market place and manneke pis are not very far from the National bank. Maybe it's better to visit those right after the visit of the National Bank.
