The year 2015 is almost over, so it is already time again to start thinking about the Summer EBT Meeting of next year.

In this topic, you can volunteer to organize Summer EBT Meeting 2016. This topic will be closed on 7th of February 2016 (around 17:00 GMT / 18:00 CET / 19:00 EET), so the BoD can start to discuss about the candidates beginning February.

To avoid problems with the time for organising the Winter EBT meeting 2017, the BoD wisches the Summer meeting to be organized not too late.
The period suggested would be in the summer (from July to September), with the suggestion of August.

Requirements/conditions/guidelines for organizers:

• Two organizers or more. One will be appointed as the main organizer
• The main organizer is at least 21 years old
• The main organizer should be able to communicate in English
• At least one of the organizers should have participated in an official international Eurobilltracker meeting
• At least one of the organizers should live in or know the city where the event will take place very well
• At least one of the organizers should have organized a national EBT meeting

Requirements/conditions/guidelines for candidate city:

• The city should have a certain touristic appeal. International EBTM participants will stay for more than one day and they should be able to see more things than they will see on the meeting day.
• The city should be located near an international airport.
• The city should have a railroad station, preferable an international railroad station
• There should be youth hostels nearby where people can stay cheap
• There should be a few restaurants which are able to have a large group of people eating there or two/three restaurants located near each other which can handle some smaller groups.

Remember this a checklist. If a candidate doesn't match all of these conditions, it still can be a candidate to organize an official international eurobilltracker meeting.
Still, the more requirements a candidate-organizing team has, the more credibility the candidacy has.

• The name(s) of the organizing team;
• The city you want to organize Summer EBTM16 in;
• The dates that you can organize it; a detailed schedule of the event is not needed, the big lines are appreciated.

It's just an idea (bit drunken one, after Motörhead, Saxon and Girlschool gig), but maybe some of the Baltic countries would be interested in organizing this? For my knowloedge there haven't been any meetings so far. Just correct if I am wrong or idea is not good. Lovely countries anyway...

I believe it would be really enjoyable experience to have next/some international EBT-meeting in Latvia or Lithuania. By the way, Finnish people have planned a meeting in Tallinn (this spring), so that would be also chance to Baltic ebters to come and see other users But to the topic, I think that meeting in some Baltic country would get visitors from many different lands, because it's so easy to fly or get by car there (from Finland and Middle-Europe). There are many interesting things to see, and as there are so many active users in Latvia and espiacially in Lithuania, we'd get the local people to show us their countries. It's really lovely if we'll get some people to organize this.

Since no city was nominated... I thought I nominate a whole country... which is Malta.

The last meeting here was held in March 2010, over 6 years ago and it was a winter one.

Now we will organise a summer one.

Meeting will be held either in August or in September, keeping in mind the Finnish meeting in Estonia on 29th August. Dates will be announced soon and program too, since activities will depend on the dates.

Meeting will be split as follows

Friday evening - meet for dinner
Saturday morning - excursion to Rabat/Mdina or the 3 cities
Saturday afternoon - Harbour cruise
Saturday evening - dinner/festa
Sunday morning - still to be decided.

More information will follow soon.

At the moment I'd rather prefer a date in August (maybe in the beginng) considering the Finnish meeting. But I fear that due to weather conditions in August people will vote for a date in September.
I cannot give any information about September due to the fact that I am going to study in the Netherlands from 1st September, 2016. And since I havn't chosen my courses yet, it's unclear when and whether I could leave for Malta.

In every case: A very nice destination where I'd really like to be present.

wow.. It would be great to meet you guys once more. Hopefully it won't be when I will be on holiday (in august). September will be ok for sure.

September and October on Malta is amazing. Still many tourists, but not so much like on August. And I prefer September, too, if possible.

August usually is much hotter than September, too.

It's confirmed: The Summer meeting will be held in/at Malta.
