Hello everyone.

As you might have read, this year the summer meeting will be held in Malta. We hope that we live to our reputation as being the island of the sea and the sun.

We have prepared 2 programs and dates for you which we would like you to choose.

10 days to vote and the most voted program / date will be chosen. Would appreciate if only those people who are interested in joining, votes. You can vote both options.

Program 1 - August 5-7
5th Friday - Meet for dinner
6th Saturday - Visit Ta' Qali crafts village, Rabat & Mdina. Evening attending a village festa in Lija which is famous for fireworks.
7th Sunday - Harbour cruise & Lunch
8th Monday - 1 day trip in Sicily.


Program 2 - September 16-18
16th Friday - Meet for dinner
17 th Saturday - Visit Ta' Qali crafts village, Rabat & Mdina. evening dinner.
18th Sunday - Harbour cruise & Lunch
19th Monday - 1 day trip in Sicily.


To take into consideration that
weather will be warmer in August.
Ferry to sicily might be smoother in August than in September.
Village festa is only doable in August as there are no festa during September weekend.
Day trip to Sicily can be moved to Sunday if more members prefer and can be cancelled if only a few would like to go. 1 day costs approx EUR 200 including 90 minute ferry each way, lunch, transportation, guide and entrances.

I'd like to visit but at the moment I would prefer the August dates. It might be warmer, yes, but for me the September dates would not be that convenient.
In case the majority chooses for September I cannot say whether I could participate. At least at the moment. I f I could, it would only be Saturday and Sunday (probably until noon since I'd have to go back to the Netherlands to be back for university on Monday)
In both cases I need to think about attending the Sicily trip.

I thought that I just don't vote for a certain date but to give a comment as well, as this could give further information about who would like to come. Furthermore, one can write additional things such as that one stays longer/shorter etc. which cannot be derived from the number of votes.

perhaps it would have been better to write not only "August"/"September" in the poll but the fix dates.

Which will be the "Base town" on Malta?

Dates changed and are complete now.

Base town will be Sliema / Gzira area.

Where in Sicily is the day trip going to go, please? Thanks in advance.
I assume the day trip is an option, will think about it.

For me, August is the only possibility. Sadly for me, a vast majority already voted for September...

I'm sorry Cazy Bob, but I'm one of them: The later the meeting will be, the more chance there is that I've got a job so I can join.......

On August 5-7 we'll be attending geocachers MEGA-event at Wales, so September is my choice.

On August I'll be in Valle d'Aosta, so september is the only date for me, too.

The poll ended, the date has been set.

It's going to be 16-18th September 2016 !!
