Hello,

Today i found a bill with probably a greek text written on it. Too bad it wasn't a hit.

But is there anybody able to translate this?
I may have written it wrong though....
KATAΛOΓO KOVIΠPEΣEP.
The first word has to be Catalague i think. But what can the other word mean?

You are correct about the first word. The second does not look like Greek. Any chance you can scan it?

Well... are you sure about Λ or it was something like Л because the letter is the same but the second one il L in cyrillic alphabet (in quick writing is done like Λ as well...)

What look strange to me is V which does not exist nor in Greek neither in Cirillic.
Then it was a Σ, a clear one?

I'd be very curious to see the picture too!!!

As I understand it, it should be "ΚΑΤΑΛΟΓΟΣ ΚΟΜΠΡΕΣΕΡ", which means ""Catalogue of Compressors". If the final Σ is missing from ΚΑΤΑΛΟΓΟΣ, then the word "Catalogue" is in the accusative case.

I hadn't checked the forum for a couple of weeks and only just noticed your request. Here is the Greek translation of the phrase you quoted:

Ευτυχισμένο το Νέο Έτος 2009 ! Το EuroBillTracker καλωσορίζει τη Σλοβακία στην Ευρωζώνη ! Παρακολουθήστε την διαδρομή των σλοβακικών χαρτονομισμάτων !

I hope this is not too late to deal with what you needed the translation for.
