What alphabet to adopt for city names?

Post by miach »

Hi,
I traveled last month in several cities in Greece, where I could raise a hundred notes.
I have a question: do I enter the names of cities with the Greek alphabet or the Latin one? Do I prefer Αθήνα, Athina or Athens?

For Athens, it's ok, but for Ολυμπία (http://fr.eurobilltracker.com/profile/?city=149041), Κορώνης, Σπάρτη, ... they are not yet localized in the european map, is that normal ?

I live in Greece and have entered thousands of notes in Greece. I have used English transliterations for all of them. Why? Because it makes it easier for foreigners to understand where I found the notes.
