It would make much more sense to find the highest plate/serial number combination. For example 5 V013A1/VB90... beats V013J6/VB88
What sense does it make to count only the highest shortcode.
if a 5 V013A1 is found... There is definitely a V013J6 also, so no need to wait for someone to find it and "beat" the A1
just my thoughts

A0000001A, your way of registering the highest plates vs highest serials would be much more meaningful, undoubtedly. However, this thread is just a game. It has no meaning in fact.

My pet peeve is another one that collectors seem to think that it's not just a game: A1 being always more valued than other cell positions. As it turns out, many of the plate/cell schemes do not start at A1.
