Separated at birth (game)
Here's a new game.
Do you have any pair of notes with consecutive serial numbers that were found some months, or even years apart? How far apart?
An easy way to check this is using the excellent statistics generator nigmm. The first part of its "Serial analysis" page is called Near notes / "Family meeting". Here's an example of what it looks like:
For this game, the only valid lines are the ones containing consecutive notes (that is, "Notes diff." = 1).
So, on the example above (from my own database), you can see on line 12. the consecutive notes "separated at birth" that have found their way to my hands 166 days apart (in different towns actually!).
So what is your score? If you have one line with 1 "note difference", how many days apart ("Days diff.") were they found?
Ranking on the 2nd post of this topic.
[Note: I am not sure how rarely these pairs of consecutive notes are found. If too few EBTists have found 1-note apart notes, this game has to change. I have an idea on how to do it (instead of a single number, find your highest ratio "Days diff./Notes diff."), but I want to try the simple version before.]

Re: Separated at birth (game)
Welcome, and thanks for joining the game. Entering directly on 4th place!
Would you be able to reveal the "Note #" and "Entered in" for both notes, so that I can update the ranking?

I hate to be that-one-annoying-person-who-doesn't-have-Windows, but I don't have Windows
Is there another way to find these consecutive serial numbers without using nigmm or digging through my whole list of notes?

Re: Separated at birth (game)
Sorry, Trezay.
I tried to do very simple formulas in Excel to do it but quit after tinkering for almost an hour or two. I'm not a programmer but I'm sure there's a simple way of doing it, I just didn't find it.

No problem
I'll try to see if I can borrow a colleague's computer to do it.

Re: Separated at birth (game)
There's a new #1 in the ranking above. roberdy & TjeAn had already a long 1697 days twin "reunion", but he found a new and better one.
