Water-towers near your place
@Dakkus: That's true. Because of that I had earlier thought that water towers MUST look like that but this thread has opened my eyes in this VERY important matter...
Living away from Euro zone in the beautiful Vancouver, Canada since January 2012. Experiences and stories of living in here can be found in here (in Finnish).
Here's the most famous water-tower in my city, Haikaranpesä (Heron's nest)
It looks like a UFO if you look at it from the sea for example and can only see the top of it
Built in 1968. There's a restaurant at the top.
--------------
Here's one more from Espoo, also situated in the Southern part of the city (I live 10 km North of these places). The Espoonlahti water-tower, built in 1995
The nearest one for me is located in the smallest and richest city of Finland, Kauniainen, where I study It's just a small one and barely visible, very low and ugly. Built in 1964

This is the watertower in Ferrara:

PLEASE, DON'T FEED THE TROLLS!!!

Marshalling yard or railroad shunting yard, says the friendly lion.
I don't know if it was mentioned here before, but of course one should not forget that water tower in Prenzlauer Berg, now containing rather expensive flats
The water tower on the Fichtenberg, apparently now a weather station
Then we got this nice one near Ostbahnhof, lovely pickelhauben-style
Last but not least, the ugly former water tower of my ugly former home town Oranienburg:

The tower of the water in madrid are underground deposits with (I think) one of the best waters in the world. The water for the 5 million of people in the comunity of Madrid is served by the "Canal de Isabel II".
It can hold up 945 000 millions of liters in reservoirs and dams, now it´s at 49.2 % (464,982 Hm³). In the 2003, it treated 607,47 Hm³ of drinking water. And purified 257,3 Hm³ in the 2000.
It has 11126 km of pipes
22 deposits keep the water:
Bravo Murillo (1879): 188.412 m³, 6'84 m high, 2,75 Ha
Islas Filipinas (1915): 463.500 m³, 6'84 m high, 6,78 Ha
Plaza de Castilla (1940): 141.602 m³, 6,75 m high, 2,09 Ha
The biggest: El Goloso (1969): 534.355 m³, 7,70 m high, 6,94 Ha
and 18 more
(sorry, the pictures are very old)

This is the water-tower of Geilenkirchen. I could not find much information about it. They put lots of mobile phone transmitters onto it.
That´s the watertower of my hometown.
I grew up som blocks away.
Alles auf die Knie!!!
Wanna buy one!!!
Hello to you all,
I'd like to contribute a photo of this watertower in Vlaardingen.
It may not be the most beautiful one.
But it is the one we'd like to buy for our foundation.
So for me it is more worth than all the bills from Eurobilltracker.
Greetings DiTo
