And what Van Dale says, usually makes sense...Tiger wrote:I spend way too much time behind my computer...
Some days even more than 6 hours .
Oh and in Dutch the plural of 'forum' can be both 'fora' or 'forums', they're both correct... At least Van Dale says so.
How many hours a day do you spent behind your pc? (average)

Not counting work? I would say about... six or seven. In my defense: I still manage to read a lot, watch movies, read two newspapers and I'm simply interested in so many different things.
And of course, like now, I do spend non-workrelated time behind the computer at work.
PS. I know people who are not single who spend so much time BECAUSE they're not single and their sweetheart is on the other side of the world...

I don't háve a life.
That would be the no. 1 excuse: behind your pc so long because he/she is soooooooooo far away... how romantic... (although it doesn't beat the real thing, now does it... )Ganymede wrote:PS. Same with me!MissTracker wrote:None. I use Mac
Answered 0 to 1 'cause there's absolutely no more spare time to spend sitting in the internet. (That's what I do if I do something with computer on my free time) School and boyfriend and sports and all. Of course in the ends of the periods I can spend days (= 4 to 9 hours by computer per 24h) writing essays etc. but that counts as work, doesn't it?
Earlier I spent much much more time in the internet, but nowadays I just drop by for eurobilltracking, checking fast some details, reading e-mail or webcomics or googling. Suits me.

The pc is on, the whole day. But only for EBT I'm spending around 2 hours. The rest of the day is spend by reading texts, downloading films and music, using messenger and write emails. I have a social life, but also a lot of free time.

I switch the computer on in the morning and it stays on all day, unless I go out to the shops - I have to get hold of notes somehow! I work at home as a translator, so sometimes I'm working, sometimes doing research on the Internet, sometimes surfing around. But this sedentary lifestyle is NOT GOOD FOR US
I spend approximately 15 to 16 hours a day in front of the machine, normally.
I commence my day at about 10.30am, I break for an hour at about 2pm, get another half hour at about 8pm, and work through til 4am ish. I get a half hour for a shower in the morning too normally. I work at home. Two jobs. Both computer-related.
Sad?
Perhaps!

[picking what=nit]Actually mac IS a PC. PC stands for Personal Computer, not just a computer based on x86 technology ;)milanocapitale wrote:i'd like to be less addicted in this way too
Since macs are very similar to x86-boxes in what they're used for - the only really visible difference is the OS, which is slightly better in macs - they are clearly PCs.[/picking]
So, you actually use PCs more than you think! ;)

I voted 0-1 hours....
BUT: for work it is probably 8-12 hours, depending on workload, and whether I'm in the office or "on the road". Outside of work, I almost never use my computer (we have our own PC at home, but it only gets turned on about once a week). HOWEVER.... that's not to say that the 8-12 hours I spend behind my PC at work is work!
