Post by €€F »

I found out this great new word;

to ebtalise

It means that when you are ebtalising , your are doing something for EBT.

In dutch it is ebtaliseren

How about the other languages ??
If you can't solve it it's not a problem..

Ebtalizar in portuguese :P

Am I ebtalising right now? Am I an ebtalisator? :lol:

It gets confusing after reading the word a few times :)

Although I like Yannn's idea, I would dare say billetraquer would be both closer to the original and Frenchier ;)

Anyway, I believe ebtaliser could be French, since "bt" words do exist in Latin languages ("obtenir", "subtil", ...)

Also possible: ebtizar or even ebtar. Plus, of course, following Yannn's suggestion, biltracar! ("Biltracar", in fact, sound like a dubious automobile stand... 8O)

Hmmm, I'm not sure billetraquer sounds more French. Billotraquer was fine to me... But maybe you meant biltraquer, which is also not bad :)

No, really, ebtaliser would sound very weird in French... There's no words starting with "ebt..." in this language... It would be difficult to pronouce. I think it's as weird as a word starting with "sp" in Spanish.

In Finnish the verb might be ebtata
So this hobby is called ebtaus or ebtaaminen

But Finns already use the word träkkäys (tracking). -->v. träkätä, s. träkkääminen or träkkäys
Tr wasn´t used in Finnish this way, so in some dialects the spoken word would be räkkäys. That is close to the word rääkkäys which means torturing (animals).

Well I sometimes call this hobby rahanvahtaus . (following money changed to staring at money. Well we do stare at the notes and computer screen a lot :wink: )
