I wasn't sure, but I already saw 'Lippe' when I quoted the text. I just wanted to know, if Lippe was a city, Kreis, province or something else...

Lippe is a Landkreis today, but it's flag was already in use for the principality (until 1918) and german freestate until it became united with Nordrhein-Westfalen in 1947 (which presents the "Rose of Lippe" beyond Rhine and westphalian horse in it's arms today).
Detmold, the capital of Lippe is today the administrative center for the whole east of NRW.

Though Leopoldshöhe is in Lippe, it's just the combination of red and gold (so-called "Buddha-colours") I like really much, probably that's also the reason why I like the german flag - and those of Belgium and Spain.

Who says that something's ugly is just not able to see the beauty in it :wink:

Belgium has the most beautiful flag. The colours fit beautifully together.

The German flag is horrible, dunnow why, but that's what I think. :?

And my vote for the most beautiful flag is Bhutan.

The most original one: Nepal.

The most boring one: Lybia.

And the twin flags: Bahrain and Qatar

i voted germany, but it has the same colours as our flag..

i like this one more, it's the flag of Vlaanderen, one of the 3 'parts' in belgium

I think you are absolutely right, Lars. I don't think it is very smart if you're a Belgian and you consider your own flag the most beautiful and the German one the ugliest whereas they have the same colors in it.

I like the flag of Lippe you posted on the previous page. Looks very nice indeed.
