Welcome!
For the English speakers out there, here are the rules of the dotmap density game in English. Updates will be added in
the first post. Feel free to ask questions and/or post your scores in English, I'll be glad to take care of the translation
The point of the game is not necessarily to have the largest amount of dots, but to have the densest dotmap as possible. This means you have to group your dots in a single cluster. To be in the same cluster, dots must have an edge in common (not just a corner). For example, in the image below, the dots for Versailles and Auxerre are part of the same cluster of 11 dots, but not the dot for Montbard :
There are two different rankings, one for the largest cluster, and one for the percentage of your dotmap included in that cluster. Therefore, when you post your score, you'll need to calculate the size of your largest cluster manually, or have
EBTCheck do it for you. Then, you can calculate your score in percentage by doing this calculation :
(Number of dots in your largest cluster) / (Your total number of dots) x100
[Edit on September 22, 2018] A third ranking has been added to the game. The goal is to have the longest uninterrupted horizontal and vertical lines. Each player's score is determined by the number of dots in the longest of the two. The other line is used to break any potential ties.
An example (featuring my dotmap) :
My largest cluster goes from Marseille (my red dot) to Germany.
It's composed of 184 dots, and I have 274 dots in total, so my score is :
Number of dots in my main cluster :
184
Percentage of my global dotmap : 184/274x100 =
67,15%
