If you don't like traveling, just watch where your Eurobill goes and let the banknote do the travelling for you!!

ok, but compare the portuguese wages with the dutch ones..K3lvin wrote:I've Cable modem and I pay for it 47 € /month. That's pretty cheap, normally even 256kbps ADSL is worth of 50 €.
who has a 400-500 euros/month can't afford that...

PS: how can you write the euro symbol without error messages?

I think we have about the same price around here ... but before ADSL I had a "free" connection, which cost me about the same (telephone bill)BossaNova wrote:just a 56k modem here![]()

here ADSL or Cable is just to expensive... for ADSL they want something like 39 euros/month plus more then 150 euros to activate..
haven't enough euros..
bn
Now I travel at 100 times the speed I used to, and can spend as much time as I like, download the most stupid items, or just listen to music over the net, or play a chess game with someone from Brazil, or use the internet as a telephone, why not ... ? It's all been paid for + my telephone line is not busy all the time...
But all in all, the reason we did it is because my wife needs it for professional reasons (just lucky)
Time is on our side ...

Does almost everybody really have a fast connection, or is it just that people with slow connections(except me and bn) aren't patient enough to browse this forum? Or maybe they just don't vote 'cause loading this page again after casting the vote takes some time.
I have a 56kbps modem, but still the real speed of my connection is only about 40kbps.
That's annoying, almost 30% of my modem's speed is wasted somewhere.
That is still enough for reading this forum and other rather "simple" sites, but many sites have extra opening pages and lots of images and animations that make my modem frustrating slow.
The reason I don't have a cable or ADSL is, of course, money. My parents don't want to pay that much for an internet connection, because they can use fast internet all day at work.

Even though we have a little bit higher wages, Finland's overall purchasing power parity is one of the lowest in the EU (due to high prices, taxes etc.), do high speed Internet connections are expensive from Finnish point of view, too.BossaNova wrote: ok, but compare the portuguese wages with the dutch ones..

I really don't know, I just type the signBossaNova wrote: PS: how can you write the euro symbol without error messages?

Mayby you need some upgrade or something. I dunno.
Goddammit that's unfair! The activation costs about 150-200 € here if you get ADSL or cable. And the monthly fee is still about 2/3 of our prices in Italy! The Dutch seem to have reasonable prices too.pinguino79 wrote: Guess what? I have ADSL....
