Montengro's flag among the other countries which use euro
Hello everyone!
I have been to Montenegro this summer, seeing with my eyes what I couldn't believe before: Euro is the currency they use
So I wanted to suggest to add also Montengro to the list of the first 20 flagged countries which use euro and that appear when searching for notes or hits.
It is not member of the European Union but also Monaco it is not!
Best wishes everyone

Monaco is an official member of Euro zone. They have their own Euro coins like San Marino and Vatican (and soon Andorra). Montenegro and Kosovo are using the currency as well but there is no agreement with the EU.

Re: Montengro's flag among the other countries which use eur
it depends of the philosophy of the webmasters !
- if they consider the list as the list of members of the eurozone, Montenegro and Kosovo should not be included
- if they consider the practical side and list the countries that really use exclusively the euro, Monenegro and Kosovo should be included (and maybe other territories: Kapverde and Island were very close to use exclusively the euro: they didn't, but we can expect some other countries/territories to do so in the future, because their money dropped outrageously, or because they declared independence without creating own money, or other reasons): it could become somewhere difficult to the team to list them !

They could always leave it to popular demand (by e.g. making a poll).an-148 wrote:it could become somewhere difficult to the team to list them !

personnally, i would prefer a list with the real user of € instead of the strict official list => thus including AND, MNE and KS

I support Montenegro and other eurocountries listed in the top countries.

Hi, we had to draw a line somewhere, otherwise the list would simply be a list of all countries in the world in alphabetical order. The line is currently defined as "this country has the right to mint their own Euro coins", which means that Andorra will be admitted to the list on July 2013. Other countries will also be added, if they can make a similar agreement with the EU. It's also an user interface decision to keep the list on the top relatively short.

Reason: changed "coins" -> "Euro coins"

like I said on point 1 ; a line has to be drawn (and it's not because there are only 2 countries outside for now, that there will not be more later)avij wrote:Hi, we had to draw a line somewhere, otherwise the list would simply be a list of all countries in the world in alphabetical order. Also there isn't that much EBT activity (notes entered) in Montenegro and Kosovo to make it necessary to put them higher on the list. Vatican has more notes entered than Kosovo, and Montenegro is beaten by Switzerland, Poland, Sweden, CZ, UK, Russia, Dominican Rep. and Turkey among non-€ countries. Maybe when we popularize tracking in these 2 countries, they could be included regardless of the official status in eurozone.
