Asiamaniac wrote: Sun Feb 03, 2019 12:22 pm Has anybody got an idea where all these presumably fake Americans are from? Are these real people? One of those towns where they pretend to be from, is "Veracruz 9 subsotano c" - looks fake, too. Has got 11 (l)users, and they all have got 0 bills.

Guess those Americans with strange names and no bills are dust that needs to be cleaned.
Sounds like some sort of a spambot has created those accounts. This has happened before, even with the same location that you mentioned. I'll remove those.

Edit: Those 118 "users" of Chinese origin have now been removed.

Thank you , Avij, very good. And yes, these locations have rung a bell with me from previous such attacks.

Why are the accounts of repeat offenders just not deleted and their IPs blocked from accessing EBT?
I guess there must be a reason for this but I can not see what it coud be.

Have you ever heard of DHCP and dynamic addresses?

Deleting the user accounts would be rather useless. New user accounts can be created easily.

In short, yes, there's a reason for the current procedures.

If you have suggestions for how to deal better with fakers, maybe it'd be better to send them privately to ErGo instead of discussing those methods here in public.
