Bunny wrote:Beste EBT'ers,

Summary:

Ans (our number3) was with here husband in Curacao, where she suddenly became very ill. The doctor did visit her a few times, but the illness became more serious. It started out as flu, but (probably) due to exhaustion and weakness she died with a cardiac attack. Their three kids had to wait another two days before they could get their father at the airport. Today Ans will be repatriated. The funeral will be next wednesday. Completly in the style of Ans, it will be in informal and warm way.

In attachment there is the obituary. Mind that a few pieces are made unvisible, because she and her family liked their privacy.

They hope the ebt-server will keep on running, because it brought her a real enjoyment in this strange hobby. In many smalltime village in the wilderness, they have tried to explain about changing notes. The family did want to include us in this passing away.

The family also wants to thank us for the fun time we have giving Ans.

OMG, that´s really bad news! :(
May she live on in our memory and through her notes in the database.
It will be a strange feeling, should I ever hit one of her notes again.

From what I gathered over the time, this is not the first well known Tracker and Forum user who passed away. Would it not seem appropriate to install something like a "memorial hall", to remember and honour those fellow users who passed away? Just a idea...

It's not easy to find the right words at this very sad moment. We have missed a great member here.

I am sure that she will remembered by all EBTers everytime someone finds her note.

My condoleances to the family.

Dear ans

I didn't have the pleasure to meet you personally,
but i had the luck to have hits with you.
And there are more than 600.000 notes
who will remember us to a great user!

My sincere condolences and sympathy to the family.

My condolences to all family and friends of Ans for this great loss.

I had the honour of meeting Ans while preparing the Dutch EBT-Meeting that took place on December 19, 2004 on her own holidaypark De Katjeskelder in Oosterhout, Netherlands. She was an enthousiastic and warm person that is and will be for always an inspiration for many Eurobilltrackers. She was for a very long time the number one of the rankings and she will be an icon for Eurobilltracker forever.

Rest in peace.
