What is the average lifespan of a note?
And is it possible to be notified whenever one is out of use?
I mean they keep track of the date and place of the print, but what about the notes being withdrawn?

Re: Notes out of use
At a meeting at the Central Bank of Austria, there was told that the notes were scanned before they're destroyed (correct me if I'm wrong, because I've heard this in second/third hand).
Than a suggestion was made, if there could be a connection with EBT, so these notes could be inserted (with the bank as user) as "final destination".
But that would take such an effort (maybe the Bank has to employ 1 or 2 people for getting the notes inserted and/or it would take so much time of the EBT-server), it won't be done (at least in the nearer future).
If we would like this for all the notes, all the Central Banks has to participate too, and it would be unlikely we would convince all of them to enthousiast them all.
