It is indeed really impressive. The problem is that, when the Turkish location gets geolocated correctly, I guess the line won't be straight anymore. :(

Istanbul (34830)'s coords are now 40.959,28.827 on EBT database:
As it is now on EBT
As it is now on EBT
Yeşilköy.PNG (109.8 KiB) Viewed 5985 times
The correct coords, however, should be 41.081,29.142, the geocenter of all mahalleler (districts, plural of mahalle) within Çavuşbaşi, carrying the postal code 34830:
Where 34830 districts really are
Where 34830 districts really are

Sources:
  • EBT City Manager for the current coords
  • the complete official Turkish postal code table, available for download here for the places within 34830 postal code zone
  • Google Maps for the coords of those places
  • Wikipedia to understand what a mahalle is
  • Google translation of Turkish Wikipedia article for mahalle to derive the plural form

I'd just add to the above that the comment "Lentokentta" means airport, and the airport is pretty much exactly where the "A" is in the first pic. 34149 might be a better postal code for the airport, though.

Oh, that's good!

The straight line is so impressive that maybe someone should ask Jawos (this Jawos?) to change this note's postal code.

Not a dead straight line on the hitmap, in fact.

Here's the one between Monaco and Germany that is, though:
http://eurobilltracker.com/notes/?id=151329728" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Coords on citymanager:
51.3471,7.4204 DE Hagen (58135)
43.7368,7.4218 MO Monaco (98000)

With its 844 km, this goes directly to third place on the found vertical dead straight lines.

Over a distance of 230 kilometers this hit has a difference of 430 meters from east to west (or v.v.). With my famous Galway to Groningen hit the difference seems to be 5264 meters (north and south). The difference between the Finland and Greece hit of over 2.700 kilometers is only 1762 meters.
