More or less, yeah. And they are fierce competitors. Here, they have a cut-throat competition. When somewhere a new Aldi opens somewhere, LIDL is likely to open a supermarket close by as well...

it is better not to be too specific,although I find Irish supermarkets to be very suspicious of people changing notes.

Although it is good to have an idea of the best places to exchange a few notes.
When I fuel up at the end of the night,I pay with a :note-50: and have a good look at the cash register to see what notes are in it.
If it is near the end of a shift,they are happy :) to give out small notes,if they have too many.
