Hey! Very interesting!

I think the Malta's ratio is slightly distorted due to the fact that it has a small surface. ie: most parts of Malta are inhabited, while other countries' areas are like "deserts" (not cities, not villages, etc.) such as Finland, or even Spain. (Well, there's also another fact: there are "few" active users in Spain  )

And... check Cyprus. (I think its location in the ranking is wrong).

Oh, and also it is remarcable the number of hits per SqKm in countries which recently joined the €zone (eg: Estonia). Wow! I wouldn't expect these countries to "rise" so fast in this ranking!

I suppose it is unfair on :flag-fi: because of its size and population.
I will definitely drop a few (P/X) :note-20: there if I get the chance.

If you look at regions within countries, you get better results.
Nordrhein - Westfalen :flag-de: 2.32
Bayern :flag-de: 0.569
Noord Brabant :flag-nl: 5.546
Zuid-Holland :flag-nl: 7.583
Groningen :flag-nl: 6.556
Antwerp :flag-be: 12.93

Unfair and unfair. I did some calculating on Finnish regions. I took the land area (without areas of sea or lakes, since some regions are moister than the others):
We have a winner: Uusimaa / Nyland with 9.00 hits / km²
And the runner up: Kymenlaakso / Kymmenedalen with 6.56 hits / km²

The largest region (by land area, about 10% larger than Ireland) Lapland is the looser with 0.07 hits / km² (that figure is, how ever, better than the Portuguese or the Spanish one :D )

If you look at the hit ratios, Uusimaa is not the winner. It is in the top 3 list of worst Finnish regional ratios (1:36.8 ). The best hit ratio is to be found in South Ostrobothnia (1:22.6) and strictly followed by Southern Savo (1:25.9).

Antwerp :flag-be: Hits 37109 Area 2867 Km sq >>>>>>>>>> 12.94 Hits per km sq

Uusimaa :flag-fi: Hits 86217 Area 6806 Km sq >>>>>>>>>> 12.67 Hits per km sq

I must look at how they compare with international hits.

Because Uusimaa has much better hit ratio ,I would expect it to overtake Antwerp in the near future.

If you take Greater Helsinki as a sub region it has an area of 3551 Km sq and 80568 hits, giving
22.7 hits per Km sq
Looks like :flag-fi: is hard to beat on hits in general, but because Antwerp is so close to :flag-nl: and :flag-de: it wins on international hits.

Well, i did listen to that (c)rap music and thought afterwards as the title says: Hullulla on halvat huvit (idiootilla ilmaiset) - The crazy one has got cheap entertainment (and an idiot gets entertainment for free). Just one question popped up: am I crasy or an idiot? :D

I checked the figures for Helsinki subregion (economical region), since there are some wrong city profiles listed within it and one city (municipality in this case, with several "sub city profiles") is totally missing. The land area of Helsinki subregion (19 cities/municipalities) is about 5120 km² and 80455 hits (one-two days ago) 15.71 hits/km² with a variation of between 0.34 hits/km² in Pornainen/Borgnäs and 196.68 hits/km² in Helsinki/Helsingfors. The hitratio of all those is between 1:31 and 1:40, except for Nummi-Pusula, with 1:27.65.

I also checked the hit ratio (with international hits only) which seems to vary in our major cities between 1:1100 and 1:1600. I found one city, Mariehamn with an (international) hitratio of 1:600.63. But the best hitratio (counted on international hits only) is to be found in our dear dear neighbouring capital, Stockholm. Of the 221 hits only one is domestic, giving an international hit ratio of 1:41.54 :!: The best hit chasing way is to spend notes on the ferries Stockholm-Mariehamn-Turku. In fact the only national Stockholm hit is this fiver, which was sailing not between Stockholm and Turku but between Stockholm and Helsinki for five days. Notice the comment of the first user. :D

I often thought that these ferries and ferry ports would be a good place to pick up old notes.
I will have to start writing longer comments also :)
