Re: "Europa": 2nd series of euro banknotes
I recently (finally) got my hands on a T/T
This seems to be a very rare combination, althought there are quite some short codes (T001 - T006 and T010).
Does anyone know whats the deal with those notes?
Also, isnt it time to expect first bills with the new signature in the next months? Does anyone know more (when and which denomination)?

Plate change in series.
Re: "Europa": 2nd series of euro banknotes
The first banknotes featuring President Lagarde’s signature.
The €5 and €10 notes will be the first with the new signature to enter into circulation, starting next week. Those with the signature of former presidents will remain legal tender.

I'm interested too.
Till now no reports. Maybe I go to Bundesbank Frankfurt and ask next Friday.

Re: "Europa": 2nd series of euro banknotes
I highly doubt it that they ll have Lagarde notes already. Banknotes arent handled like collectors coins so it would be just pure luck if you would get one from the Bundesbank
My NCB (BundesBank Nürnberg) still issues notes which are rather old like 5€ M004 from 2018 or 10€ X003 from (2013? they dont have the original wrap so hard to tell) and 20€ Z002 / ZC since today hence I assume it might take a while for us to see them (in Germany)

First banknote received (E001/EC) featuring Christine Lagarde's signature in Madrid (Spain).

Re: "Europa": 2nd series of euro banknotes
Very nice!
There seem to be N018, E001 and W003 with her signature now

Re: "Europa": 2nd series of euro banknotes
This is really interesting! As the 2020 production of is commissioned by AT, BE, IE and PT, I thought of N/N Z/Z T/T and M/M as it was in the past. Maybe the E/EC are the Belgian order, as their printing factory will be (or is already) closed.
So far, some countries had their banknotes (almost) only printed by their own printing factory: AT, BE, FR, GR, IE, IT, PT, ES
Countries who don't have their own printer ususally have a tender/bidding process for the cheapest offer. Since some years, Germany and the Netherlands do the same.
According to the ECB production statistics, this is my guess on the next Lagarde bills:
IE -> T006, PT-> M006 (AT-> N020 are confirmed, as well as E001 -> probably BE)
ES-> V009 V010 (DE-> W003 is confirmed)
FR-> U032 and the rest (EE, CY, LU, MT, NL, SI, SK, FI) will be printed by one or more winner(s) of the tender: E, F, W, R, and maybe P (if they are not yet closed as well)
GR-> Y003 Y004, ES -> V017, FR -> U022 U023, IT -> S034, AT -> N001
DE, LV, LT -> E, F, W, R, and maybe P (tender again)

Interesting educated guesses!
I would like you to go deeper on your reasons to believe that banknotes printed on these specific plates will be issued with Lagarde's signature, taking into account that there are already Draghi notes available that were printed on those same plates:
V009 (in circulation: VA and VB)
U022
Y003

Re: "Europa": 2nd series of euro banknotes
Well, I overlooked them... Simply because I based my guess on the "Highest Short Codes" thread here in the forum. Interesting: Even though they are on Guy Sohier's list, no one reported the U022 and Y003 in the forum thread so far. (the V009 was my mistake...)lmviterbo wrote: ↑Tue Jul 21, 2020 12:29 am Interesting educated guesses!

So I rather should have said: ES -> V010, FR -> U023 and GR -> Y004.
I just looked for the highest currently known plate and added 1, so the lowest possible new plate. It might be that there are some gaps (as for example there is nothing between Z009 and Z020).
I think that all Lagarde bills will start with a new plate. However, I remember in the first series there were K007/T with either Trichet or Draghi signature.

Hmm… I guess your plate numbers were closer to wild guesses than I thought, after all.
In fact, a lot can happen, including:
Option d. is not that far-fetched either. Apart from the Trichet and Draghi one that you mentioned, there are 3 more combinations with both Duisenberg and Trichet signatures. Here are all the double-signature combinations:
In fact, a lot can happen, including:
- starting on the next plate number
- skipping some plate numbers
- using some plate numbers still unused, in gaps
- keeping using some of the latest plates
- and even reusing some old plates (this was never done before, though)

V010 entered Guy Sohier's catalogue, and it's a Draghi.
