Any tips for getting euros in Poland. We are driving from Tallinn to Leiptzik via Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. I have never driven to Poland. And I am interested to get some dots rather than much notes. Do they give change back euros if I pay euros? Or is there ATMs around.

Anyway I'll report when we are back.

The Polish word for a bureau de change is a Kantor (Wymiany Walut). There are quite a lot of them, and they are generally quite well indicated. In border regions, you might be able to pay with Euro as well. Mostly, I had no problem to exchange (reasonably) big notes only partially into PLN, receiving other Euros back, and asking for smaller denominations was almost never a problem.

Today, from the same ATM (Sparebank), I got 2x :note-20: which set me back almost 48 euros..

Then again, I did score a new dot! 8) .

The ATM on the ferry Helsingor - Helsingborg has DKK, SEK and EUR but with a Belgian card, no EUR are available. As happens so often. Similar at ATM in Haparanda, Sweden :( .

In the harbor of Dover you will find a euro cash dispenser. It is in a shop before you get on the ferry.

From this source I saw that Prague has €ATMs:

- One Raiffeizen ATM in Prague central station
- Travelex ATMs in Prague airport. Last time I checked my usual ATMs they were only giving czk :(

Thanks Groentje for tip. Just come back from dogshow tour from Germany. We drove via Baltica from Tallinn to Warsaw and to Leipzig. Way back home went to Czech republic, Slovakia and back via Baltica.
There is exchange Kantors in every borders in Poland and they are happy to take bigger eurobills and give some euros and some zlotys. I got 15 bills from four different locations. However ATM which had eurosign only gave zlotys.
In Czech republic I was able to pay euros everywhere and got back euros in highway gas stations in German border all to way to Prague. I also left euros in many other places but got sloty back. Exchange rate was bad but I wanted to try get euros.
Good trip and 16 new dots and new 2 new countries,Poland and Slovakia.

Next month to Minsk Belarus. Any tips?

+ there are several USD/CZK/EUR ATMs in Prague city center. but they work as changing ATMs you only can withdraw euros if you have a non euro account. I don't know how much that costs.

As I'm at Zagreb Airport right now, I can answer my own question: yes. :)
