Euro cash dispensers outside the Euro zone

Post by hadibe »

Update by Craco: Changed first post to Hadibe: this way he can update this with a summary of all reported ATM's.

Thread originally started by: cavrdg
There are at least two cash dispensers (ATMs) in Belfast, N Ireland that give out Euro notes. One thing that seems odd is that none of the notes I've received from them recently are from Ireland. The breakdown is 10 Germany, 10 Spain, 5 Italy, 3 France, 3 Portugal, 1 Austria and 1 Finland.

Anyone know of other Euro cash machines outside the zone?

As there have been several calls for it, finally here's a summary of Euro-ATMs outside the Euro zone:
If you find some more, can provide pictures or you are able to specify a location, please feel free to post here.

Note:
  • You might be charged extra withdrawal fees or changing commission.
  • Not all ATMs are working with every bank card, but it's worth a try.

I haved tested personnaly ATM giving euros outside Eurozone in Switzerland and in Sweden... But, although I have 3 different credit cards from 3 different banks, I could not use the functions allowing access to euros...

I tested ATM in Swedish Arlanda Airport, but unsuccessly...

I seems you need a "national" swedish card to use the Euro-withdrawal function : can anyone confirm this option ?

There is definitely one in the airport in Warsaw, Poland (operator - bank BPH). Guess it's the only one that allows you to choose between zloties and euros but maybe there are more.

yes, there are some in Switzerland
Personally, I haven't tested them, I don't like paying 4€ for cash dispensing.

As far as I noticed, all (or at least the big majority of) the ATMs in Switzerland offer the option of withdrawing euros.

I have seen Euro and USD ATMs at UK airports, but not up here in Newcastle, as far as I know.

However, there is a machine for changing Euro-bills into Sterling coins in the Metro Station at Newcastle's Central Station.

This sort of thing always makes me wonder just how many Euros are outside the Euro-zone....

Whenever I change money somewhere strange, I am always surprised by the huge wad of Euros (untracked Euros :x ) the exchange counter has...

With my bank I had tot pay extra for it :(
Probably because they "count" first from Euros to Crowns and then from Crowns to Euro's...........
But as you'll know: Euros from atms in Euro countries is for free.

Yep, the ATMs in Arlanda Airport need a Swedish card. I asked from the money exchange next to them and they told me so - so I ended up getting euros from them in 5 € notes with my credit card.. :D

My dad once got euros from an ATM in Gardemoen Airport (Oslo/Norway), so at least there a Finnish card works.
