EBT hijack

Post by MDeen »

Just to have some clarification. If I visit www.eurobilltracker.com/forum , I get the message
Hello, you have reached forum.eurobilltracker.com.

This address points to a site owned by Peter C. (craco, the first user of EBT !) and hosted by Avij, who also hosted EBT until Dec 24 2007
It acts as a base to the EBT community.

Unfortunatly, it has been hijacked by Avij : he has changed the domain name so that HE can control it, not Peter.

Until I can ascertain that Peter C. has agreed to donate the forum database and that Avij is not infringing on his rights, this address will no longer function.

Cheers, Philippe (EBT creator).
From this I read that Avij is the bad guy, but from the content of the newsletter that I just received I read something else.

Can someone clarify the current situation please? Because to me (and just reading mails and this message) it is absolutely not clear who hijacked what and who is being truthful. :x

I simple try to give you my humble point of view.
For being more clear I summerize:
.com is the site owned by Giro
.eu is the site owned by Avij & Nerzhul

In the .com the owner has obscured the forum
In the .eu the forum, where we are, is still active

In the .eu forum everyone is able to know that both site are existing, everyone is free to judge and choose.

In the .com site all the people referring to .eu have been banned and no chance for now to get the list of the notes back

So in your opinion who is the good and who is the bad guy in this story :?:

That clarifies it a bit. Tip: put that link in the announcement post on the forum.

Profile settings on eurobilltracker.com

Is is just me? Or is it impossible to update my profile every time I try to write ".eu"?

My profile doesn't get updated everytime I try to write "eurobilltracker.eu" or simply ".eu" in my profile, my username or my URL... 8O

Well, in fact I cannot change my profile to any kind of text that includes ".eu" but I can change it using ".org"

Strange little fact: www.eurobilltracker.eu/forum gives Phillipe's message that forum.eurobilltracker.com has been hijacked.

Only forum.eurobilltracker.eu works.

From the founder of this presumably hijacked forum (who still has administrator rights): http://forum.eurobilltracker.eu/viewtopic.php?t=10456
